How the planning service works
To ensure maximum delivery value, we undertake a short discovery and planning service to understand the service requirements, organisation requirements (data, security, communities of practice, standards etc), product/solution AS-IS (where applicable) and the assess the exit requirements (internal capability, operability, post service maintenance etc). From this service we:
Define an enablement sprint ensuring our teams can get onboarded, up to speed and productive in rapid time (normally within a few days of being onsite).
Create an initial backlog (or prioritise an existing backlog) for sprint 1 & 2 delivery.
Start building relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers and inhouse teams to align of delivery practices, ceremonies and standards.
Create and agree a transition plan framework (where appropriate)

How the setup or migration service works
Throughout delivery our teams work in an immersive fashion with our customers to understand the impact that new solutions or migrations will have on the customers end users, up and down steam parties, other suppliers, internal teams and operational costs. Building on the planning phase we assess the change impact from the AS-IS and TO-BE and define a roadmap to transition people and process. A service transition plan can be agreed with each customer and monitored and a deliverable under the service. Where appropriate, Tecknuovo can also carry out an internal capability assessment as part of the transition plan, providing training workshops, war games, paired programming and other innovate knowledge transfer activities to reduce setup/migration impact. Fighting climate change

Fighting climate change

As a growing digital consultancy, we are committed to behaving responsibly and minimising our impact on the environment. Wherever possible we work to reduce our carbon emissions associated with running the office and related business travel. Where these emissions cannot be reduced, they will be offset.

We have partnered with Trees for Cities, the only UK charity working at a national and international scale to create greener cities. Trees for Cities were selected as the ideal partner for Tecknuovo as their urban tree planting builds resilience against threats facing the natural environment. Each year London's trees remove 2.4 million tonnes of air pollution including carbon dioxide, dust, and other gaseous toxins. Our entire carbon output for 2020 was offset in the spring of last year, with the partnership ongoing as we continue to grow. We will be carbon positive by 2023.
Covid-19 recovery

Covid-19 recovery

Tecknuovo appreciates the hardship and difficulties faced by those who are left unemployed due to COVID-19. As our company grows, we create employment opportunities through recruitment for new positions at all levels within the company. This has taken place even at the height of the pandemic, and it will continue as we transform and innovate as an organisation.
Tecknuovo uses an ‘Associate’ model to provide support services to our clients. This means that we indirectly create and promote job opportunities for the smallest of companies, some of which had people on furlough within their own companies but have been able to return to work due to the job roles we promoted.
As a company we also support a number of smaller organisations working to diversify the technical workforce. Through Black Valley, members of the Tecknuovo team act as mentors for black individuals looking to find work in technical roles. Many mentees graduated from university or were made redundant during the Covid-19 pandemic and want help to upskill and find the right role for them.
Covid-19 did not only affect the UK. While not a local community initiative, our formal partnership with War Child ensures support and assistance is given to vulnerable children for whom the unstable political situation, lack of a basic healthcare infrastructure and running water for adequate handwashing means the effects of Covid-19 are felt even more.
Tackling economic inequality

Tackling economic inequality

To tackle inequality, we aim to identify groups that may be underrepresented or disadvantaged within our organisation, in our Associates network, and within our supply chain. This is so that we can monitor and measure our efforts in increasing diversity and inclusion in areas such as ethnic group, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion and age. This also forms part of our recruitment procedure. Provision of this information is voluntary, and it will not adversely affect an individual’s chances of being hired, or any other decision related to their employment. This information will also not influence the decision to an offer of a contract for services. The information is removed from each application before shortlisting.
Through partnerships with inclusive job boards such as BYP Network and MyGWork, we ensure that any vacancies in the Tecknuovo office are advertised to the widest possible audience, rather than just using tools such as LinkedIn jobs.
Through the inclusive mentoring programme – Black Valley – Tecknuovo Mentors provide upskilling and support to mentees looking to work in the tech industry. Tecknuovo is proud to support the Black Valley mission, working to improve the accessibility of careers in the tech industry to the black community.
Our recent panel event on Challenging Bias in the Workplace was very well received by the wider Tecknuovo audience, tackling topics such as imposter syndrome, what it’s like being the only female at the table, juggling childcare whilst working, how the pandemic has affected women and how companies can adapt, address and ally themselves to the key challenges women face in the workplace.
Equal opportunity

Equal opportunity

Tecknuovo is committed to diversity and inclusion and promoting equality of opportunity for all employees, candidates, associates and contractors. We aim to create a culture and working environment in which all individuals can make the best use of their skills. One that is free from discrimination or harassment, and in which all decisions are based on merit and competency. We do not discriminate against employees on the basis of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation (protected characteristics). Our recruitment practices carried out based on our Equal Opportunity and Diversity and Inclusion policies.
Wellbeing

Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our teams is a top priority. We’ve built a model for managing productivity in a sustainable way, working efficiently within mixed departmental/Tecknuovo teams (both onsite and remotely, and with a blend of permanent and contracted teams) whilst always nurturing the ‘human’ work-element, reinforcing a culture of trust, professionalism, and mutual respect.
• Mental-health awareness training for all - network of Mental Health First-Aiders (MHFA: staff ratio of 1:14)
• Well-signposted mental health Application and Services (e.g., access to 24/7 counselling)
• Wellness Programmes: monthly health and wellbeing events with expert practitioners
• Active line-management support, proactively checking stress/performance levels, intervening/supporting as necessary

Tecknuovo takes the mental health of all employees very seriously and workplace mental health is a priority for us. Our board of directors has overall responsibility for employee welfare and the operation of the specific policy. They drive a clear governance structure for monitoring and reporting any mental health-related issues and preventative actions. We also have several Mental Health First Aid Champions within our internal and managerial team to support anyone in this area.
Those with line management responsibility are encouraged in spotting and supporting all aspects of mental health in the workplace. Training and awareness-raising activities are used to support everyone at all levels at Tecknuovo to play a role.
