Fighting climate change

Fighting climate change

We Believe: The global scientific community is united in recognizing the urgent need to address greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions because of the role they play in climate change, a real and rapidly growing threat to society and the planet. Addressing climate change, and the GHG emissions that contribute to it, requires urgent action and long-term commitments by every segment of society, including the business community. As a Business and Technology Consultancy, Holhooja plays its role in supporting its clients in using technology innovation. We focus our talent on implementing technologies to: · enable low-carbon energy generation, · improve energy efficiency across multiple sectors such as transportation and construction, and, · reduce GHG emissions along the value chains for a wide range of processes and products. We Support Climate Policies That: · Achieve net GHG reductions through sustainable science and innovation practices. · Engage stakeholders to encourage integration of climate and energy policies while still providing adequate flexibility to fit their circumstances. · Maximize impact by addressing the largest GHG reduction opportunities first, using the most cost-effective alternatives. · Acknowledge the role renewable and bio-based feedstocks can play in creating essential products and solutions while minimizing carbon emissions. · Support both mitigation and adaptation strategies that include life-cycle considerations. · Include transparent monitoring, reporting and verification systems (MRV). We are Acting on Climate Change: · We support the goal of transitioning to a clean low-carbon economy as our inspiration. · We support the Paris climate agreement and advocate for climate action. · We actively pursue energy efficiency and conservation programs.
Covid-19 recovery

Covid-19 recovery

To meet the challenges posed by the pandemic, Holhooja had to react in agile and decisive ways. As we move into the next phase, now is the time for us to seek out and seize the opportunities emerging in the recovery. This involves collect data and insights on lessons learned from the pandemic, and then using these to prioritise actions to enhance business value today and build strategic resilience for tomorrow. This will help Holhooja and its stakeholders be well-placed to capitalise more effectively on the opportunities rising in the post-COVID-19 recovery – and to continue winning in our marketplaces as greater certainty and stability return. Moving forward from a crisis, we will invest time and energy into considering upcoming risks — and determining the right actions for each —to turn potential surprises into strategic opportunities. A key lesson learned is a focus on promoting continuous learning and accountability. Applying the elements we’ve learned are critical to a crisis response.
Tackling economic inequality

Tackling economic inequality

Holhooja is committed to tackling economic inequality at root. Our overriding vision is to help lower the unequal distribution of income and opportunity between different groups in society. Holhooja is committed to working with small, diverse, high-quality suppliers as a core aspect of our procurement vision. We endeavour, on a good-faith effort basis, to work with and develop small, minority, and women-owned businesses. Holhooja is always looking for small and diverse suppliers that can deliver creative, high-quality products and services. Holhooja adheres to the Prompt Payment Code and is committed to paying suppliers on time, giving clear guidance to suppliers and encouraging good payment practice. A recent Payment Practice Report confirms that Holhooja suppliers are paid on average 20 days following receipt of invoice. Holhooja is committed to ensuring that it pays their fair share of taxes, practice non-discrimination, comply with social and environmental regulation, and respect and support human rights. Our responsible tax practice also involves reporting on tax-relevant information, and transparent and responsible engagement with tax authorities. Holhooja support the establishment and expansion of social protection measures at the national level, where they may complement government efforts with their expertise and resources. We do so through the implementation of policies and practices to support equality of opportunity, treatment, and outcome for all across own and supply chain operations. We further support the reduction of inequality through design and implementation of products, services, and business models that target the needs of vulnerable and marginalized populations. Reducing inequalities benefits our business as it helps create a more stable and predictable business environment. It also introduces greater diversity of thought into the workplace, boosting innovation and profitability. Economic research shows that reducing income inequality boosts economic growth.
Equal opportunity

Equal opportunity

Equality is fundamental to a stable, just, prosperous, and peaceful society. Many groups, such as women, racial minorities and indigenous populations, still do not have equal access to opportunities and discrimination related to wages, and employment. We believe that the private sector has a crucial role to play in addressing the systemic challenge of reducing inequality. Business impacts inequality through the decisions it takes on how to distribute the economic value it generates. At the same time, the systemic challenges underpinning attainment of this goal illustrate the need for collaborative action bringing together all stakeholders, especially Governments. Social purpose is woven into Holhooja’s fabric. From creating new businesses and new employment opportunities, to improving education and training, Holhooja is committed to tackling economic inequality at root. Our overriding vision is to help lower the unequal distribution of income and opportunity between different groups in society. Reducing inequalities benefits our business as it helps create a more stable and predictable business environment. It also introduces greater diversity of thought into the workplace, boosting innovation and profitability. Economic research shows that reducing income inequality boosts economic growth. Definitions: - equality of opportunity means equality of access and life chances; - equality of treatment means equality in how people are treated in day-to-day affairs and zero discrimination based on sex, race, gender and other non-work-related characteristics; - equality of outcome is equality of income and wealth.
