Setup and migration

Setup or migration service available
Yes
How the setup or migration service works
ANDigital will support the migration to the cloud or between cloud services. ANDigital will support the migration of data to ensure it makes sense. In addition, we will check access controls/guardrails.

ANDigital will consider the compatibility between the old and new service, as well as the costs of the new platform (designing architecture in budget etc). The elements of the old system need turning off, ANDigital will do that in line with any change boards (integrating with organisations Change Advisory process to ensure that the transition is seamless).

Finally, we will understand the jurisdiction and potential implications there, particularly with regard to data implications.

Social Value

Fighting climate change

Fighting climate change

Our environmental priorities are focused on using ethical suppliers, reducing tech waste and adopting sensible practices.

ANDigital will be carbon neutral via offsets by 2023, and carbon free via insetting by 2025. We have a fully documented Carbon Reduction Plan which we can provide upon request. We prioritise supply chains with similar environmental values, only buying from suppliers committed to sourcing and disposing of waste sustainably.

Energy efficiency

All IT including laptops are set to low power mode after several minutes of inactivity. The majority of our offices are located in shared office spaces (e.g. WeWork) which are designed with minimal energy consumption in mind and we comply with all requirements in this regard.

Carbon Footprint

During the delivery of this contract, ANDigital will continue to utilise our Blended Working model, which creates the right balance between effective collaboration and avoiding unnecessary travel - whereby our people work from wherever they, agreed by ANDigital and the client, will provide the most value, whether this is at home, client offices or one of our 14 'Clubs' across the UK. When planning delivery teams, we do our best to make sure those delivering the project live and work locally to the client to minimise unnecessary business travel.

ANDigital has identified ways to measure emissions across our locations and has set targets for reductions/offsets using benchmark data. We also operate a Cycle-to-Work Scheme with CycleScheme Ltd. Our people are able to choose equipment, with ANDigital paying the invoice for the cost of the bicycle/any accessories. The goal is to promote healthier journeys to the office, when required, and reduce environmental pollution.
Covid-19 recovery

Covid-19 recovery

As an organisation with national reach, we understand our part in supporting communities to manage and recover from COVID-19 - to that end, we have championed a number of initiatives to create employment/re-train individuals who have been made unemployed by COVID-19.

We have encouraged all our staff (called ANDis) to seek out opportunities that support people and communities to recover from the impact of COVID. For example, our Manchester Clubs have been working with isolated, disadvantaged and homeless people affected by COVID-19. The Club have provided mock interview practice sessions, delivered ‘Introduction to Coding’ courses through local community colleges, and built tools such as an innovative job matching site/back-end to homeless people get back into employment. So far we have:
- Supported 700 people during lockdown;
- 64 of which have gained employment;
- Delivered activities to build skills and confidence for 371 people

ANDigital operates a Blended Working approach for all ANDis - where an individual or team’s work location is defined by the work being done, whilst ensuring we deliver value to our clients and maintain our remarkable culture. With this in place, we are able to ensure all ANDigital operations adhere to social distancing (should this be a client's preference) and that all ANDis stay protected wherever they work.

As a result of the pandemic, we opened up further channels of communication via Slack, email and Zoom to our ANDis to combat feelings of loneliness and further support our people's mental health Our CEO, Paramjit Uppal, and the People Teams across the clubs provided regular updates throughout and developed the Blended Working Approach based on ANDi feedback.

Furthermore, we have supported several of our clients with their return-to-work efforts, including the Department for Education, with whom we are a strategic partner.
Tackling economic inequality

Tackling economic inequality

ANDigital’s business model, with 14 regional offices throughout England and Scotland, is designed to provide the best local support to clients whilst assisting in government agendas to improve equality in regions in the UK. Our offices, from London, to Halifax and Leeds, provide highly skilled, well paid, technology employment opportunities wherever we are based.

Not only does this regional approach help to generate jobs throughout the UK, but our wellbeing and inclusion policies help to retain talent, providing stability to our workforce. Our internal training platform provides a variety of free courses to help our people upskill themselves further, with ten days per year allocated to encourage participation.

We engage local communities and outreach groups in providing employment and training opportunities for those the sector would not normally reach. For example, we source recruitment candidates from specialist agencies and forums such as XUNTOS, the largest community of technology graduates from under-represented ethnic groups, for all available roles across the UK. We provide free training and upskilling courses to women through Code First Girls, and work with refugees to upskill them in skills relevant to gaining employment in the technology industry. Our staff are actively encouraged to provide free career coaching and training talks in universities, many of which are aimed at under-represented groups in the sector.

When putting together the best team to deliver value in public sector projects, we actively seek out partnerships with SMEs in order to deliver outcomes. This helps us tackle economic inequality in the supply chain. To ensure we're using the most appropriate suppliers for the situation in an ethical way, we have strong vendor neutrality processes and open-book arrangements, providing SMEs with the opportunities they need to excel and grow their own businesses.
Equal opportunity

Equal opportunity

From the outset in recruitment, ANDigital sources candidates from specialist agencies to encourage applications from under-represented groups in the technology sector.

Once recruited, we create a culture of inclusion, advancement and transparency for individuals of all backgrounds through:
- Adopting a ‘flexible working’ policy, cognisant of working parents, carers and part-time students. This allows our ANDis to create their own work life balance whilst still delivering for our clients
- Encouraging internal communities for diverse groups. Our LGBT+ and BAME groups hold educational and outreach events, providing commentary on proposed AND policies to ensure they work for everyone
- Having set competency matrices for all ANDis, providing motivation and objective measurement for advancement. Pay grades are formalised, ensuring consistent remuneration for the same work regardless of gender, age or other factors.

In 2022, we published our first Ethnicity Pay Gap report alongside our annual Gender Pay Gap report, which we can share upon request. Initiatives to tackle these gaps include: recruitment of an Inclusion Lead, ensuring there is a senior ANDigital representative in each of our thriving D&I communities with a remit to champion inclusivity and equality; 60% BAME/40% White recruitment targets; and maintaining/developing our strong relationships with minority ethnic group worker and university societies.

To ensure accountability, ANDigital’s Social Ethics and Inclusion Committee (SEI) has commissioned a Diversity, Inclusion and Equality audit by specialist diversity company YSYS, focusing particularly on representation of disabled people within AND. We will be signing up to the Disability Confident Employer initiative post-audit. We measure feedback through quarterly surveys against a range of data points relating to equal opportunity; 90% of our people feel we value diversity, a 7% increase since 2019. Improvement plans are owned at board-level, with accountability updates provided quarterly at company-wide briefings.

ANDigital's Equal Opportunities Policy is available upon request.
Wellbeing

Wellbeing

ANDigital is proudly a people first company; from corporate level down to small teams, wellbeing is at the core of how we are structured, and how we operate. Our goal is to be a Top 10 company to work for everywhere we operate, by 2025, and Glassdoor awarded us #2 for Best Places to Work 2022.

ANDigital’s employee benefits package prioritises physical health and wellbeing through:
- Home working budgets of £300 per ANDi enable comfortable home working. Mandatory DSE assessments help to mitigate any ill-health caused by equipment at home
- Discounted gym memberships
- Private medical insurance as an employee benefit
- Group exercise classes run by our network of clubs, for example, fortnightly badminton classes in Reading and virtual yoga.

Our approach to mental health and wellbeing is guided by the 6 standards of the Mental Health at Work commitment. Each Business Unit at ANDigital has its own mental health plan, balancing best practice from industry with knowledge of their own people and concerns. We have one Mental Health First Aider for every 15 employees who run awareness sessions monthly with their teams. Our dedicated Slack channel dedicated to ‘Distinguishing Differences’ provides an avenue for ANDis to affect company policies and influence which issues to address next, alongside increasing visibility of mental and physical wellbeing issues that can affect ANDis in the workplace.

We partner with the charity Mind to encourage further training for Line Managers and awareness of mental health ill-being symptoms and support. ANDigital’s Employee Assistance programme provides confidential support on a range of physical and mental wellbeing issues, including the opportunity to receive formal counselling.

Quarterly pulse surveys provide quantitative monitoring of company wellbeing; 84% ANDis feels their wellbeing is actively prioritised; action plans stemming from ANDi's suggestions are synthesised and owned at board-level.
