End-of-contract data extraction
At the end of a contract, Foresight Works enables users to securely extract all data in compliance with both its Master Software Agreement (MSA) and internal security policies.

Under the MSA’s Confidentiality and Disclosure clause, the company must promptly destroy, erase, or return all client data and information upon contract termination or at the client’s request.

Data extraction process:

Customers can export all project data and analytics outputs via the Foresight API or administration console in open formats (CSV, JSON, XLSX).

On request, Foresight’s technical team provides a full encrypted data export (AES-256) through a secure transfer method before data deletion.

Only authorised administrators may initiate or approve data extraction to maintain compliance with Data Protection Act 2018 and ISO 27001 standards.

Following extraction, Foresight securely deletes all client data from its systems in accordance with the Record and Data Retention Policy and GDPR requirements.

This ensures customers retain full ownership and access to their information at contract end, with all data handling governed by the MSA and Foresight’s certified security framework.
End-of-contract process
At the end of the contract, Foresight Works follows a secure, structured offboarding process in line with its Master Software Agreement (MSA). Customers receive prior notice before contract renewal or termination (12-month term, three-month notice). Before expiry, users can export all project and analytics data through the Foresight API or administration console in open formats (CSV, JSON, XLSX).

Upon written request, Foresight Works will securely return or delete all client data in accordance with the MSA’s Confidentiality and Disclosure clause. All access credentials and API tokens are disabled after confirmation of successful data retrieval. A certificate of deletion can be provided on request, following GDPR and ISO 27001-aligned procedures.

Included in the contract price:
– Platform and API access (per-user subscription)
– AWS hosting and 99.5% uptime
– Microsoft AD SSO integration
– Gold-level customer support and helpdesk access
– Data export through API or admin console

Additional costs (if required):
– Assisted or large-scale data exports
– Extended post-contract access for migration
– Bespoke integrations or feature requests

This ensures a secure, transparent, and fully compliant end-of-contract process that gives customers complete control over their data.
Documentation accessibility standard
None or don’t know
How the documentation is accessible
Foresight Works ensures that all onboarding and offboarding documentation is secure, accessible, and compliant with open standards.

Documentation is available through the Foresight Customer Portal in HTML format, allowing users to view it directly in a web browser without additional software.

Key documents — such as onboarding checklists, user setup guides, and offboarding procedures — can also be downloaded as PDFs for offline use or record-keeping.

Access is role-based: administrators can view and manage full onboarding/offboarding materials, while end users see only relevant sections (e.g., login, MFA setup, and data access policies).

All documents are version-controlled and maintained under the company’s Document and Record Control Policy, ensuring accuracy and traceability.

Updates or new guidance are communicated through the secure customer support portal and email notifications.

This approach provides a balance of security, accessibility, and compliance — allowing users and administrators to access the right information in open, government-compatible formats (HTML and PDF) while maintaining ISO 27001–aligned control over document integrity and confidentiality.

What users can and can't do using the API
Foresight Works provides a secure, cloud-based API that enables customers to integrate and automate project data between their internal systems and the Foresight SaaS platform.

Users can set up API access through the Foresight Admin Console, where administrators generate and manage tokens linked to their organisation’s account. The API uses OAuth 2.0 authentication and supports Microsoft Azure AD Single Sign-On (SSO). Role-based access control ensures only authorised users can configure or modify access.

Through the API, users can import project schedules, update metadata, retrieve analytics, and automate data synchronisation. All API activities are logged and monitored, and versioned endpoints allow safe testing before production use.

Users cannot alter application logic, infrastructure, or machine-learning models, nor can they perform direct database operations or modify security configurations. Access is limited to their own tenancy, with rate limiting and encryption (TLS 1.2+) enforced.

The API operates within Foresight Works’ ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus–certified environment, hosted on AWS and protected by Cloudflare WAF. This ensures secure, auditable integration without compromising system integrity or other customers’ data.

Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
Foresight.Works guarantees a minimum 99.5% service availability across its SaaS platform, excluding planned maintenance windows, which are notified to customers at least 48 hours in advance. The platform is hosted on AWS and Microsoft Azure, both of which provide geographically redundant infrastructure, automated failover, and continuous load balancing to ensure high resilience and performance.

All service components are monitored in real time through automated systems that track uptime, performance, and security metrics. Alerts and recovery mechanisms are built into the environment to support continuous operations and meet recovery time (RTO) and recovery point (RPO) objectives aligned with ISO 27001, CSA CCM v4.0, and Cyber Essentials Plus standards.

If the guaranteed availability level is not achieved in a given billing period, customers receive service credits or proportional fee adjustments as set out in the Master Service Agreement (MSA). Foresight.Works provides regular SLA performance reports or ad hoc summaries upon request.

Annual business continuity and disaster recovery exercises validate our ability to sustain services during unplanned events. These measures, supported by our ISO-certified partners, ensure that Foresight.Works consistently delivers a secure, resilient, and highly available service to all customers.
Approach to resilience
Foresight Works implements a robust, automated backup and recovery framework to protect customer data and maintain service continuity. All data is hosted within AWS and Microsoft Azure environments, which are certified under ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27701, and CSA CCM v4.0.

Data is backed up using encrypted storage replication across multiple geographic regions to ensure redundancy and rapid recovery in the event of hardware failure, data corruption, or accidental deletion. Backups are performed daily, verified for integrity, and retained according to contractual and compliance requirements defined in the Record and Data Retention Policy.

Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) are defined and maintained in line with industry best practice, typically ensuring data can be restored within four hours of an incident. Backup encryption follows AES-256 standards, and cryptographic keys are securely managed via AWS Key Management Service (KMS) and Azure Key Vault.

Foresight Works conducts annual disaster recovery and business continuity tests to validate recovery procedures, as part of its ISO 27001 ISMS and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. Detailed backup, recovery, and continuity documentation is available to clients upon request.
Outage reporting
Foresight Works uses a proactive, automated monitoring and notification system to identify and report service outages in real time. All critical infrastructure components—applications, APIs, network endpoints, and databases—are continuously monitored using performance management tools integrated with AWS CloudWatch and Azure Monitor.

In the event of an outage or service degradation, alerts are immediately generated and escalated to Foresight Works’ Network Operations Centre (NOC) and Incident Response Team. Customers are notified via email alerts and status updates published through the customer service portal. The system automatically categorises incidents by severity, ensuring prioritised remediation and transparent communication throughout the event lifecycle.

Customers can also access uptime and incident metrics through regular SLA reports or via API integration upon request. Service performance and historical uptime statistics are made available for audit and compliance reviews.

Post-incident, a root cause analysis (RCA) is completed, and a summary report is shared with affected clients outlining corrective actions and preventive measures. Foresight Works adheres to ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 controls, ensuring consistent incident handling, business continuity, and resilience across all service environments.
