- End-of-contract data extraction
-
Users can extract their data at any time during the contract using built-in export capabilities, APIs, or workflow outputs within the Alteryx platform. Customers may download workflows, analytic assets, schedules, configuration files, and data outputs directly through the interface.
For Alteryx Analytics Cloud, users can export datasets, results, and workflow assets in standard formats such as CSV, JSON, or other supported connections. For Alteryx Server, workflows, macros, schedules, and results can be exported from the Gallery or through the Admin interface.
Alteryx does not restrict data extraction, and customers retain full ownership of their data. After contract termination, data is retained for a limited period in accordance with Alteryx retention policies, after which it is securely removed. - End-of-contract process
-
At the end of the contract, customers retain the ability to export their data, workflows, and assets before service termination. Alteryx will notify customers ahead of contract expiry so that any required data extraction can be completed.
Once the contract expires and the service is deactivated, user access to the platform is removed. Any customer data remaining in the service is retained only for a short period in line with Alteryx data retention policies and is then securely deleted.
Customers may renew their contract or transition to a different subscription tier with no service disruption. Offboarding assistance, including guidance on data extraction and account closure, is available through Support and Customer Success for customers with applicable success bundles. No additional cost is charged unless professional services are requested. - Documentation accessibility standard

Testing includes the use of automated accessibility scanning tools, manual keyboard-only navigation checks, colour-contrast verification, and screen-reader compatibility evaluations using tools such as NVDA and VoiceOver.
While Alteryx does not run formal user panels with assistive technology users, the product accessibility review process incorporates findings from internal audits, industry accessibility best practices, and design reviews performed by our internal Accessibility Team. Feedback from customers using assistive technologies is also incorporated into ongoing accessibility improvements. - API
- Yes
- What users can and can't do using the API
-
Alteryx provides APIs that allow users to automate administrative tasks, integrate workflows with external systems, and programmatically manage platform resources. Users can authenticate, submit jobs, retrieve results, manage users and schedules, query system metadata, and interact with workflows and assets through supported API endpoints.
Users cannot modify core platform behaviour, access underlying infrastructure, or bypass role-based security controls. API access is governed by user permissions, so users can only perform actions that their assigned role allows.
API usage is limited to published and documented endpoints, and customers cannot introduce custom server-side code or extend the API beyond supported functions. Rate limits and authentication requirements also apply to ensure secure and reliable operation. - API documentation

- Customisation available
- Yes
- Description of customisation
-
Users can customise the service by creating and modifying analytic workflows, macros, and analytic apps to meet their business requirements. They can configure user permissions, schedules, data connections, and environment settings relevant to their organisation.
Via APIs and connectors, users can integrate Alteryx with third-party systems, automate analytic processes, and extend capabilities with custom Python or R code within workflows.
Customisation is limited to user-level configuration and workflow logic; the core platform, security model, and infrastructure cannot be altered. Customisations can be performed by authorised users with the appropriate permissions, including analysts, administrators, and integration teams.
Users can also customise the theme of the service to match custom branding guidelines.
Scaling
- Independence of resources
-
Alteryx ensures users are not impacted by the demand other users place on the service through workload isolation and resource management. In Alteryx Analytics Cloud, each job runs in an isolated, scalable execution environment that automatically provisions compute capacity as required. This prevents workloads from competing for resources.
For Alteryx Server, administrators can configure job prioritisation, worker nodes and scheduling controls to balance workloads. Across all deployments, concurrency controls and platform monitoring ensure no single user can consume excessive resources, protecting performance for all users.
Analytics
- Service usage metrics
- Yes
- Metrics types
- Alteryx provides application-level metrics such as workflow run history, job performance statistics, success and failure rates, queue activity, and server resource utilisation indicators. Administrators can monitor user activity, schedule execution, asset usage, and Gallery performance. For cloud services, usage dashboards provide visibility into job runs, asset consumption, and platform health. Metrics support auditability, optimisation of workloads, and operational oversight.

Availability and resilience
- Guaranteed availability
-
For an on-premise deployment of Alteryx Server, the availability is at the users discretion based on the technical architecture (i.e. single node vs HA deployments).
Alteryx Analytics Cloud has an availability in line with that of the underlying cloud provider (AWS) at 99.5%. - Approach to resilience
-
Alteryx cloud services are designed with a strong focus on resilience, redundancy, and high availability. Our cloud-hosted platforms are deployed across geographically diverse data centres, each with independent power, networking, and physical security controls. As part of our commitment to resilience, critical system components are replicated across availability zones, enabling continued operation in the event of localised failure. Automated failover mechanisms ensure service continuity, and load balancing is used to distribute demand and maintain performance.
Data durability is maintained through regular, encrypted backups and multi-region replication of key service components. Our infrastructure is continually monitored, with proactive alerting and response processes managed by dedicated operations and security teams. We design and test disaster recovery procedures regularly, ensuring recoverability and alignment with the NCSC Cloud Security Principle 2.
More detailed architectural and data-centre information is available to government buyers on request under appropriate NDA. - Outage reporting
-
Alteryx provides transparent and timely reporting of service availability. We maintain a publicly accessible status dashboard that communicates real-time system health, scheduled maintenance, and incident updates. During an outage, the dashboard is updated throughout the incident lifecycle, including initial detection, impact assessment, mitigation steps, and resolution confirmation.
https://status.alteryxcloud.com
Customers can subscribe to receive automated notifications via email for incident alerts, maintenance events, and post-incident summaries. Additionally, Alteryx offers API-accessible status information for organisations that wish to integrate outage data with internal monitoring or service-management tooling.
Our operations and engineering teams continuously monitor platform telemetry and receive alerts through our internal incident-response systems. Any material outages trigger our documented incident-management process, including escalation, customer communication, and post-incident review to improve future resilience.
