Onboarding and offboarding
- Getting started
-
Sklls provides comprehensive onboarding and training to ensure users quickly become confident in using the platform. All superusers receive a dedicated onboarding session via Microsoft Teams, where they are guided through system setup, key features, and best practices for managing training content and users.
Inside Sklls, users have access to a wide range of training videos and self-help materials, available directly within the platform. These cover everything from basic navigation to advanced reporting and scenario customization, allowing users to learn at their own pace.
If additional training is required, Sklls can provide onsite sessions tailored to the customer’s needs. Onsite or extended training is available at an additional cost and can include workshops, advanced scenario design, or in-person user support.
This blended approach, combining live online onboarding, built-in learning resources, and optional onsite training, ensures both administrators and end users can start using Sklls effectively and confidently from day one. - Service documentation

- End-of-contract data extraction
-
At the end of the contract, Sklls does not currently offer an automatic data export function. However, data can be manually extracted upon request before termination. Customers who wish to receive their data must contact Sklls support, who will arrange a manual export of relevant information such as user activity, training records, or reports.
If no data extraction is requested, all customer data is securely deleted in accordance with GDPR requirements once the contract ends. This ensures that personal and training-related information is handled lawfully and removed from all systems in a safe and compliant manner. - End-of-contract process
-
At the end of the contract, Sklls will deactivate all user accounts and securely delete customer data in compliance with GDPR regulations. This process ensures that no personal or training-related data remains stored in the system after contract termination.
The standard end-of-contract process, including user deactivation and data deletion, is included in the price of the contract.
If the customer requires a data export before deletion (for example, to retain training records or usage data), this service is not included in the standard contract. Data export can be arranged as a manual process by the Sklls team upon request and may be charged as an additional service based on the scope and volume of data.
This ensures that all customers receive a secure and compliant contract closure process while maintaining flexibility for those who wish to retrieve data prior to deletion. - Documentation accessibility standard

- How the documentation is accessible
-
Sklls ensures that all onboarding and offboarding documentation is clear, accessible, and easy to use. The onboarding session is provided either digitally via Microsoft Teams or as a physical meeting, depending on customer preference. During this session, users are guided through the main features, user management, and best practices for using the platform effectively.
After the session, participants receive a PDF summary by email (if agreed) that includes key instructions, links to learning materials, and contact information for further support.
All training and instructional videos are available directly inside the Sklls platform once the user has logged in.
Offboarding guidance, including data handling and user deactivation steps, is also documented and shared digitally to ensure transparency and compliance. The Sklls Privacy Policy is publicly available through the official Sklls website for full visibility into how user data is managed and protected.

-
Users can easily customise Sklls to match their own training needs through an intuitive web-based editor. The platform allows trainers or administrators to create and adapt simulation scenarios, define AI personas, and customise dialogues, tone, and behaviour to reflect real operational environments.
Each persona can be configured with background data, emotional profiles, and response styles to simulate specific communication challenges or personality types. Users can write or import their own scripts and branching dialogues, set learning goals, and decide how the AI should respond to different inputs.
Voice and language can also be customised, users may choose from multiple AI voices, accents, and emotional tones, ensuring realistic and contextually appropriate communication.
The platform’s scenario builder supports collaboration, allowing multiple trainers to co-develop, test, and publish new training modules. All custom scenarios are stored securely within the organisation’s workspace and can be updated or reused for continuous learning. In short, Sklls enables organisations to build fully tailored, AI-driven simulations that mirror their real-world communication challenges, without any coding skills required.

- Approach to resilience
-
Sklls is designed for high resilience and reliability, ensuring continuous access for users. The platform is hosted on Microsoft Azure, leveraging its robust cloud infrastructure and built-in redundancy features.
Our primary data centre is located in Azure West Europe (The Netherlands), with secondary regions in Ireland and Sweden to provide geographic redundancy and failover capability in the event of a regional outage. Azure’s infrastructure includes automated data replication, load balancing, and continuous monitoring to minimize downtime and ensure service continuity.
This setup allows Sklls to maintain stable performance, protect against data loss, and quickly recover from potential disruptions. Detailed architectural and resilience information is available upon request. - Outage reporting

Sklls follows a comprehensive Information Security Management System (ISMS) certified to ISO/IEC 27001. Our policies and controls are designed to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all customer and operational data.
Information security governance is led by our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), who acts as the Information Security Officer and reports directly to the CEO. The CTO is responsible for maintaining compliance with ISO 27001 and GDPR, overseeing risk assessments, incident response, and continuous improvement of security controls.
Our policies cover areas including access control, data classification, encryption, secure development, supplier management, and business continuity. All employees receive mandatory security awareness training, sign confidentiality agreements, and adhere to defined procedures for data handling and system access.
We conduct regular internal audits, vulnerability assessments, and annual external ISO audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. Incident reporting and change management processes are documented and reviewed quarterly by the management team.
Compliance is enforced through automated monitoring tools, policy reviews, and staff accountability. Our structured approach ensures that information security remains embedded across the organisation and that Sklls consistently meets the highest industry and legal standards. - Software Security Code of Practice

- Configuration and change management approach
- Sklls manages configuration and change through a structured process ensuring all changes are planned, evaluated, approved, implemented, and documented. Service components are tracked throughout their lifecycle via our project management and issue tracking systems. Changes are categorized as organizational, operational, or code changes. Organizational changes are recorded in Board documentation, operational changes are tracked in our management system, and code changes follow our Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC) policy. All changes are assessed for potential security impact before implementation to maintain system integrity, availability, and confidentiality in accordance with ISO 27001 requirements.
- Vulnerability management type
- Complies with a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v4.0 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
- Vulnerability management approach
-
Sklls conducts continuous vulnerability management through automated scanning, patching, and intelligence monitoring.
Potential threats are assessed using Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel, which continuously monitor Azure resources and logs to detect anomalies or new vulnerabilities.
Critical patches (e.g. zero-day) are deployed immediately, while routine patches are applied monthly through our CI/CD process.
Threat intelligence is sourced from Microsoft Threat Intelligence, CIS benchmarks, and results from bi-annual third-party penetration tests.
All vulnerabilities are tracked until closure and reviewed during management reviews and continual improvement activities to ensure ongoing risk mitigation. - Protective monitoring type
- Complies with a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v4.0 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
- Protective monitoring approach
-
Sklls employs continuous protective monitoring using Microsoft Sentinel and Defender for Cloud to detect anomalies, unauthorized access, and suspicious activity. Alerts are automatically prioritized based on severity and escalated to the CTO.
When a potential compromise is identified, it triggers the Incident Management process, which includes immediate containment, investigation, remediation, and a root cause analysis.
Response to critical incidents is immediate, with lower-severity issues addressed within 24 hours.
All incidents are logged, reviewed in management meetings, and used to improve controls and threat detection capabilities. - Incident management type
