Platform Requirements: Customer provides Databricks workspace (Azure/AWS/GCP) or Microsoft Fabric capacity. Minimum compute tier specified during Discovery based on data volumes.
Infrastructure Ownership: All resources deployed to customer's cloud tenant. Customer responsible for networking, identity management, and security configuration.
Integration Dependencies: Source system connectivity required—APIs, database credentials, or SFTP access. Firewall rules and private endpoints customer-managed.
Core/Custom Separation: LASHAN maintains Core layer code; customer owns Custom layer. Core updates require re-deployment; customers must not modify Core components directly.

FoundationLink™ is available exclusively with implementation services. The solution cannot be purchased as a standalone product. Pricing consists of three components: IP Licence (annual right to use), Managed Services (ongoing support and enhancements), and Implementation Services (deployment and configuration).
Implementation is delivered in phases, beginning with a mandatory Discovery engagement that confirms scope and complexity before Platform Build commitment.
Discovery Deliverables
• Data landscape assessment and source system inventory
• Source system evaluation: complexity, data quality, API availability
• Solution architecture design for your environment
• Integration approach for each source system
• MVP scope confirmation with domain prioritisation
• Detailed implementation plan with milestones
• Risk register and mitigation strategies
MVP scope and investment are quoted following Discovery based on the published day rates. Discovery determines the number of domains, source system complexity, data quality challenges, and client readiness factors that drive the implementation effort.
All MVP engagements include: Core platform deployment, medallion architecture, semantic layer with template regulatory views, sample Power BI dashboards, testing, UAT support, knowledge transfer, and documentation. - Service documentation

Setup & Configuration:
• Provision data pipelines and orchestration jobs via Databricks REST API or Fabric APIs
• Configure ingestion schedules and dependencies through native platform job APIs
• Manage user access and permissions via cloud identity APIs (Azure AD, AWS IAM, GCP IAM)
• Deploy Custom layer code through Git integration and CI/CD pipelines
• Configure data quality rules and alerting thresholds programmatically
Ongoing Operations:
• Trigger pipeline runs and monitor execution via platform APIs
• Query Gold layer tables through SQL endpoints, JDBC/ODBC connections, or REST APIs
• Modify Custom layer transformation logic using SQL or Spark APIs
• Add new data sources using platform-native connectors and APIs
• Export data programmatically to downstream applications and reporting tools
Limitations
• No LASHAN-hosted API: All interactions via customer's cloud platform; LASHAN provides no managed API endpoints
• Core layer read-only: Customers cannot modify Core components via API; changes require LASHAN engagement under Managed Services
• Platform constraints: API capabilities determined by Databricks or Fabric feature availability and licensing tier
• Customer-managed security: Authentication, credential rotation, and API access controls are customer responsibility
• Rate limits: Subject to cloud provider throttling; no LASHAN-imposed limits - API documentation

Availability and resilience
- Guaranteed availability
- We target >99% availability of the platform during normal business operations (9:00 - 17:00 Mon-Fri). Whilst we do not have formal SLAs with customers we are prepared to put these in place under Call Off Contracts so that any non-availability during core hours is recorded and reimbursed at the end of each contract year. Detailed mechanism to be specified in call off contract.
- Approach to resilience
-
FoundationLink is designed for resilience at both infrastructure and application layers. At the datacentre level, the platform is provided on Buyer's existing so will inherit availability characteristics adopted for other Buyer applications.
At the application layer, FoundationLink uses a stateless architecture with auto-scaling, load balancing, and no single point of failure. Circuit breaker patterns protect against cascading failures from external dependencies. - Outage reporting
- Where outages or service degradation happens, we raise email alerts to customers with follow up calls as necessary.

- Configuration and change management approach
-
FoundationLink is licensed and deployed into the customer's cloud environment. This creates a shared responsibility model for configuration and change management.
FoundationLink’s configuration and change management processes ensure all service components are version‑controlled, tracked, and auditable throughout their lifecycle. Core layer code is maintained in a protected repository with semantic versioning, documented release notes, and deployment logs that record every change and customer‑specific deployment version. Changes undergo controlled release procedures, including customer notification, testing, approval, deployment, and validation. Security impact is managed through structured release types—quarterly updates, security patches, and hotfixes—ensuring vulnerabilities and critical issues are assessed and remediated promptly. - Vulnerability management type
- Supplier-defined controls
- Vulnerability management approach
-
FoundationLink deploys into customer-owned cloud infrastructure, vulnerability management responsibilities are shared.
Our vulnerability management process combines secure development, continuous scanning, and clear remediation timelines. We assess threats through dependency scanning, static code analysis, secret detection, and manual security reviews, performed on‑commit or per release. Critical, high, medium, and low vulnerabilities are patched within 72 hours, 14 days, 60 days, and the next quarterly release respectively, with appropriate customer notifications. Threat intelligence is gathered from vulnerability databases, security bulletins, ecosystem notifications, data platform vendors, and cloud provider alerts to ensure rapid awareness of emerging risks. - Protective monitoring type
- Supplier-defined controls
- Protective monitoring approach
- Our protective monitoring follows a shared‑responsibility model, with logging and monitoring operating within the customer’s cloud environment. We identify potential compromises through platform logging, including error logs, audit logs, and security‑related monitoring guidance, such as tracking authentication events, privilege changes, and infrastructure security events. When a potential compromise is found, LASHAN supports investigation of platform‑related incidents and provides expertise during security events, with customer approval for log access. Response speed depends on the customer’s Managed Services tier, ranging from quarterly to weekly proactive reviews.
