Availability and resilience

Approach to resilience
BT Active Intelligence uses several data feeds to generate mobility and footfall insights. BT Active Intelligence undertakes significant DQ (data quality) assessments on those feeds and post processing insights to ensure that the best data quality can be reached, but the following should be noted:

GeoMND – GeoMND provides better spatial accuracy and more data points than traditional mobile data, but there is still uncertainty around the geolocation and this varies by area and time of day, thus whilst our algorithms try to address these, any numbers provided are not exact and subject to some level of error.

Cell configuration – As the EE mobile network is continuously improved, the cell network evolves, with cells constantly added and removed as part of optimisation..

Data outages – Data feeds are maintained to ensure they are robust, but they may fail from time to time, leading to localised or global outages.

Continuous improvement and release versions – BT Active Intelligence is continuously working on improving insights through improving algorithms used on the data. This means that from time to time, a new version may be released.
Outage reporting
We provide access to an Outage Monitoring tool in the platform and/or access to our Outage APIs so users can identify where data has been affected by localised or global outages.
