Availability and resilience
- Guaranteed availability
- TekWurx uControl is designed for high availability in the AWS cloud. The service targets 99.9% availability, excluding planned maintenance windows. Availability is monitored continuously, and any service-impacting incidents are managed in line with agreed support and incident management processes.
- Approach to resilience
- TekWurx uControl is designed for resilience using AWS EC2–based infrastructure. The service is deployed across redundant virtual machines with automated monitoring and recovery to restart or replace failed instances. AWS availability zone resilience, regular backups, and controlled maintenance processes help minimise service disruption and support continued service availability. On-premises instances would follow the same backup/restore solution.
- Outage reporting
- TekWurx uses Atlassian Statuspage to provide transparent outage reporting for uControl. Service availability, incidents, and planned maintenance are communicated via a publicly accessible status page. Customers receive real-time updates, progress notifications on incidents, and post-incident summaries, supporting clear communication and service transparency.

- Supplier-defined controls
- Configuration and change management approach
-
TekWurx operates defined configuration and change management processes to maintain the security, stability, and reliability of the uControl service. All configuration items are identified and managed to ensure consistency and traceability.
Changes are assessed for risk, impact, and security implications. Proposed changes are reviewed and approved by authorised personnel and tested. Changes are scheduled to minimise customer disruption and documented to provide an audit trail.
Emergency changes follow an expedited approval process to restore service quickly and are subject to post-implementation review to ensure appropriate controls are applied. Configuration settings and change activities are reviewed regularly. - Vulnerability management type
- Supplier-defined controls
- Vulnerability management approach
-
TekWurx operates a vulnerability management process to identify, assess, and remediate security risks affecting the uControl service. Potential threats are assessed by reviewing infrastructure, application components, and service dependencies to determine exposure and impact. Vulnerabilities are prioritised by severity, likelihood of exploitation, and potential impact.
Security patches are deployed in line with risk. Critical, high-risk vulnerabilities are addressed as a priority, with patches tested and applied as soon as practicable. Lower-risk updates are implemented during scheduled maintenance.
Information on potential threats is obtained from trusted sources, including AWS security advisories, software and vendor security bulletins, vulnerability databases, and industry notifications. - Protective monitoring type
- Supplier-defined controls
- Protective monitoring approach
-
TekWurx operates protective monitoring processes to detect and respond to potential security compromises affecting the uControl service. Monitoring is conducted across infrastructure and service components to identify suspicious activity, unauthorised access attempts, abnormal system behaviour, or service degradation.
Potential compromises are identified by reviewing system logs, access events, service alerts, and cloud platform monitoring tools. Alerts highlight unusual patterns, errors, or security-related events.
Security incidents are responded to promptly according to severity. Critical incidents are investigated immediately, with initial response actions taken as soon as they are identified. Non-critical incidents are addressed within agreed operational timescales. - Incident management type
- Supplier-defined controls
- Incident management approach
-
TekWurx operates defined incident management processes to ensure that security and service incidents affecting uControl are handled consistently and effectively.
Pre-defined processes are in place for common incident types. These processes define roles, escalation paths, response actions, and communication requirements, enabling prompt and structured handling of incidents. Incidents are assessed for impact and severity to determine appropriate response and prioritisation.
Users can report incidents via Jira Service Desk, which serves as the primary support and incident reporting channel. Reported incidents are logged, tracked, and managed by authorised TekWurx personnel, providing visibility of status and progress. - Post-quantum cryptography secure
