KHIPU End-of-Contract Data Handover Checklist.
When a contract ends, KHIPU ensures a secure and compliant process for returning customer data if requested:
1. Data Identification
Confirm all customer-owned data, including logs, reports, configurations, and backups, across systems covered by the agreement.
2. Data Extraction
Prepare data in the agreed format (e.g., encrypted files, CSV, PDF) and verify completeness and integrity before transfer.
3. Secure Transfer
Use encrypted channels such as secure portals or physical media. Apply encryption for data at rest and in transit, and confirm authorised recipient access with multi-factor authentication.
4. Customer Confirmation
Obtain written confirmation that the data has been received and validated for integrity and usability.
5. Data Destruction
Remove all residual copies from KHIPU systems and confirm deletion within the agreed timeframe.
6. Compliance
Ensure all steps comply with GDPR and Data Protection Laws. The process is documented for audit purposes.

This structured approach guarantees security, transparency, and legal compliance during the data handover process.
End-of-contract process
At the end of the contract, if the organisation chooses not to renew and continue with the service, all data pertaining to the organisation is deleted. If the organisation chooses to renew then the service continues as normal. 90-days prior to the contract expiration date an initial reminder email is sent, followed up by gradually increasing reminders until the date of expiration.

Service Setup via API: Users can perform initial configuration and deployment tasks, such as creating new user accounts, configuring access controls and user groups, and defining networks or asset groups. Key setup is done by generating Access Keys and Secret Keys in the UI, which are then used to authenticate all subsequent API requests. This allows for automated deployment of scanners and agents.

Making Changes via API: Users can programmatically manage most operational aspects. This includes scheduling and launching scans, creating and modifying scan policies, importing third-party data, and exporting asset and vulnerability data for integration with external systems (like ticketing or SIEM). Changes are typically executed using standard REST methods like POST, PUT, and PATCH.

Limitations: The primary limitations are Rate Limiting and Concurrency Limiting to ensure service stability for all customers.

Rate Limits restrict the number of API requests a single user can make per minute.

Concurrency Limits restrict the number of simultaneously running jobs, such as a maximum of 25 active scans and up to 10 concurrent export requests per customer container. Additionally, large tasks are often processed asynchronously via export endpoints.

Approach to resilience
Tenable’s data centre setup leverages the robust infrastructure of Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver high levels of resiliency for its cloud-based platforms. Critical system components are distributed across multiple, isolated Availability Zones, each engineered for independent operation and high reliability. Tenable’s SaaS systems are designed for restoration within 48 hours, with automated processes swiftly redirecting traffic in case of failure to minimise downtime. Core applications are deployed to an N+1 standard, ensuring that if a data centre fails, sufficient capacity remains to load-balance traffic across operational sites. Each data region has a designated disaster recovery (DR) replication site, maintaining a near-time backup replica of data. These replicas are encrypted with the same methods as the source sites and physically located near the source to reduce latency during fail-over and maintain data sovereignty. Backups are performed daily, weekly, and monthly, with access restricted to authorised personnel. Tenable’s business continuity and disaster recovery plans are tested annually, and recovery exercises are conducted to validate readiness.
