At the end of the contract, EarthSense ensures a smooth and professional transition through a clearly defined offboarding process. This includes providing access to all air quality data collected during the contract term via the MyAir® Urban platform, along with any agreed final reports or data exports. Where required, EarthSense will decommission and remove monitoring equipment, or support handover to a new provider, depending on the ownership model. Access to cloud services will be securely closed down, and all data handling will comply with GDPR and ISO 27001-aligned protocols.

The service provides a secure, RESTful API that allows users to programmatically access data from their fleet of Zephyr air quality sensors and our air quality model MappAir.
Using the API, users can authenticate and retrieve metadata and operational status information for individual sensors or entire fleets, including sensor location, latest data availability, power status, and battery levels. Users can also access longitudinal measurement data for air quality, weather conditions, and sound levels, at both individual sensor and fleet-wide levels.
Where buyers have access to premium data ratification services, the API also provides additional data quality information. This includes data quality flags and metrics such as data validity indicators and accuracy classifications, enabling users to assess the reliability and fitness-for-purpose of measurements.
The API is primarily designed for data retrieval and integration into buyer systems. Service setup and configuration, including account creation, user management, and sensor provisioning, are performed through the web-based user interface. The API does not currently support creating or modifying user accounts, changing sensor configurations, or altering service-level settings. EarthSense will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the MyAir® Urban platform is available 99% of the time in each calendar month (“Uptime”).
Uptime is measured monthly and calculated as the percentage of total time in a calendar month during which MyAir® Urban is available for use by authorised users.
Downtime means periods during which MyAir® Urban is unavailable due to unplanned outages affecting the core platform functionality.

EarthSense’s services are designed with resilience as a core principle, in line with ISO 27001 and the UK Government’s cloud security principles. Our infrastructure is primarily hosted on AWS, leveraging its high availability zones, distributed architecture, and automatic failover capabilities. This ensures redundancy across compute, storage, and networking layers. Critical data is replicated across multiple regions where appropriate, and backup systems are maintained on a defined schedule with encryption at rest and in transit.
We also operate within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, using resilient cloud-native services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams. These services benefit from Microsoft’s global fault-tolerant infrastructure and 99.9% SLA.
User endpoints are managed via Intune, ensuring consistent policy enforcement, automated patching, and device-level encryption. Our systems are monitored continuously, and key services have automated alerting to flag performance degradation or service interruption.
All services are included in our Business Continuity Plan, with defined recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs). In the event of a major disruption, critical systems can be restored using documented fallback procedures and verified backups.

EarthSense reports service outages through a structured communications process to ensure transparency and timely updates for stakeholders. The primary method of notification is email alerts, which are sent to relevant internal teams, customers, and affected users. These alerts include details on the nature of the outage, affected services, estimated time to resolution, and contact information for support.
For major service components, such as AWS-hosted infrastructure or O365 services, we integrate with upstream providers’ service status dashboards (e.g. AWS Health Dashboard, Microsoft 365 Status) to monitor real-time issues and trigger appropriate internal alerts. Outage notifications are manually verified before being sent, ensuring accuracy.
Although we currently do not provide a public-facing dashboard or API for automated outage status queries, our email communications are prompt, clear, and compliant with our incident response and business continuity procedures. Post-incident updates and resolutions are also communicated via email, including any follow-up actions or changes to prevent recurrence.
All outage reports are logged and reviewed as part of our incident management process, with lessons learned feeding into continuous service improvement. This ensures a consistent and accountable approach to outage reporting that supports both operational resilience and customer trust.
