Service constraints
Horizon Control Plane supports two main use cases: deploying Horizon Cloud Service (DaaS) and connecting Horizon 8 pods to enable optional SaaS services. Currently, Horizon Cloud Service is only available on Microsoft Azure, meaning deployments are limited to Azure environments. Horizon 8 pods can be connected from on-premises or public cloud SDDCs to consume additional SaaS features. Buyers should note this Azure-only constraint when planning deployments.
System requirements
  • Customers must purchase licenses through their capacity-provider’s licensing distributor
  • E.g., Azure for Horizon Cloud Service) and provide their
  • Own anti-virus licensing.
  • Valid Azure subscription in supported region
  • For Horizon 8-pods connected to the Control Plane, requirements include
  • Horizon Connection Server 2306+, vCenter Server 6.5+, valid certificates
  • And firewall access to specific outbound URLs.

How the documentation is accessible
"Omnissa provides accessible onboarding and offboarding documentation through its centralized Omnissa Product Documentation portal, where all Omnissa Access materials are organized by product and use case. This unified library allows customers to easily find step‑by‑step setup, configuration, integration, and lifecycle guidance for components such as Omnissa Access, Workspace ONE UEM, Horizon, and related platform services.

Documentation for onboarding is structured to support administrators throughout initial setup and environment preparation. Reference architecture chapters help customers understand how components integrate and how to configure them during onboarding.

Offboarding and decommissioning support is also accessible through the same documentation ecosystem, which includes configuration references, component removal guidance, and integration information needed when retiring services or reconfiguring the environment. All content is continuously updated, ensuring customers always receive current guidance."

  • Public key authentication (including by TLS client certificate)
  • Identity federation with existing provider (for example Google Apps)
  • Dedicated link (for example VPN)
  • Username or password
  • Other
Other user authentication
Horizon Cloud Service integrates with the customer’s Active Directory for user authentication. End users authenticate using their AD credentials, and administrators can enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) for added security. When integrated with Workspace ONE Access or other identity providers, authentication occurs via SAML or OAuth protocols, supporting MFA and conditional access policies. Administrative access to the Horizon Cloud Universal Console also supports MFA for secure management
Access restrictions in management interfaces and support channels
Access to management interfaces and support channels is restricted through PCI-aligned controls and role-based access control (RBAC). Omnissa personnel do not have access to customer desktops, applications, or data within virtual desktops. All administrative access requires least-privilege permissions, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and is fully logged and audited to ensure security and compliance.

Description of management access authentication
Management access to Horizon Cloud Service is authenticated using role-based access control (RBAC) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for administrators. Access requires valid credentials tied to the customer’s identity provider (such as Active Directory or Omnissa Access) and uses secure protocols like SAML or OAuth for federation. All privileged actions are logged and audited, and elevated access requires MFA to ensure compliance and security.
