Skills transfer is provided through a combination of

in-project coaching,

structured self-learning through the SAP Learning Hub,

on-line help within the application,

End-of-contract data extraction
During the subscription term, the customer can access its Customer Data at any time. The customer may export and retrieve its customer data in a standard format. Export and retrieval may be subject to technical limitations, in which case SAP and the customer will find a reasonable method to allow the customer access to customer data.

Before the subscription term expires the customer may use SAP self-service export tools (as available) to perform a final export of customer data from the cloud service.

Applications are provided for the collation and provisioning of extracted data.
End-of-contract process
It is the customer responsibility to extract the data prior to the contract termination. The tools for the extraction are included in the subscription for the application.

At the end of the agreement, SAP will delete the customer data remaining on servers hosting the cloud service, unless applicable law requires retention.

Where a customer requires additional support from SAP or a partner for the data extraction then additional costs will apply.

API
Yes
What users can and can't do using the API
SAP LeanIX provides a suite of APIs:

REST APIs

SAP LeanIX offers a wide range of REST APIs to provide access to various resources, such as the Meta Model, Workspace settings, Users, Metrics, Surveys, etc.

SAP LeanIX provide comprehensive documentation on the interface.  The list of REST API Interfaces with further documentation can be found here: REST APIs Overview

The REST API Reference can be found in the OpenAPI Explorer: https://app.leanix.net/openapi-explorer/ The REST APIs can also be browsed from the Developer Tools.

GraphQL APIs

The GraphQL API enables operations for Fact Sheets and related data using GraphQL queries and mutations. Example operations include the retrieval of Fact Sheet(s), updates of Fact Sheet attributes, the retrieval of applications with specific attributes, and the fetching of data from workspaces for use in custom reports.

The GraphQL tool allows developers to explore the GraphQL schema and test queries.

Integration APIs

The Integration API uses a generic SAP LeanIX Data Interchange Format (LDIF), which is a JSON format, for the import and export of data.

SAP LeanIX provide Integration API best practices and tips, examples, and tutorials.

Documentation is also available in api.sap.com, which also provides a “test harness” capability for trialling the APIs.

Customisation available
Yes
Description of customisation
Customers can customise the service. Examples include:

Customising the SAP LeanIX workspace design to reflect your organisation’s branding (e.g., logo, colours)

Customers can extend the SAP LeanIX frameworks, e.g., add custom fact sheets, custom categories and types to application and component fact sheets, and custom relations between fact sheets.

Creation of dashboards to centralise pertinent information. They can be added to favourites, to a collection and be shared.

Creation of custom reports from scratch or by leveraging one of the pre-built templates provided. Different chart and graph types can be used to choose the best visualisation. You can also filter data based on specific criteria, allowing you to create reports tailored to your needs.

Creation of your own diagrams, using Fact Sheet objects and the relationships between them.

SAP LeanIX utilises three key roles (Viewer, Member and Administrator) which control access to read, create, update, and delete information. The above tasks would be undertaken by Administrator(s), e.g. branding or framework extensions, or Member(s), e.g. dashboards, reports, diagrams. Access to dashboards, diagrams and reports can be controlled by the creator.  They can share their models with other users if they choose to.

Scaling

Independence of resources
SAP applications are designed and developed from the outset to be highly scalable. Data centre and server infrastructure is based on proven SAP reference architectures which provides both scalability and consistency of performance.

For all Public Cloud products SAP continuously monitor and adapt resources to meet load requirements.

Configuration and change management standard
Complies with a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v4.0 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
Configuration and change management approach
SAP LeanIX provides a standard production workspace to manage your enterprise architecture. It is possible to procure a non-productive tenant. However, this is typically not necessary as there are mechanisms to work on discrete projects and test modelling concepts:

Dashboards, diagrams, and reports remain private to the creator until they decide to share them.

Surveys have a dedicated test run for creators.

Meta model configurations are applied on production workspaces and tested before they are exposed to users.

The visibility of fact sheets and their attributes can be limited to admin users before making them visible and editable for members.
Vulnerability management type
Complies with a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v4.0 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
Vulnerability management approach
SAP’s vulnerability management program monitors the cybersecurity emergency response (CERT) advisory services. A CERT advisory is an alert that provides information on discovered vulnerabilities. SAP uses the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS), for assessing the severity of computer system security vulnerabilities. CVSS assigns severity scores to vulnerabilities, allowing responders to prioritise responses and resources according to threat. Vulnerabilities are communicated to the responsible LoB/business unit on a regular basis, where an implementation plan is created, based on the level defined on the CVSS rating. Scanning is carried out on a weekly basis as well as regular proactive security patching.
Protective monitoring type
Complies with a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v4.0 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
Protective monitoring approach
Scanning and monitoring is completed on a regular basis, the Vulnerability Advisory Services (VAS) team is responsible for monitoring vulnerabilities and providing the criticality and priority rating in alignment with the LoB/business units. Additionally, VAS is accountable for publishing/updating SAP CERT notifications, or SCNs, for all relevant vulnerabilities containing the latest criticality and priority rating. Each day, VAS ingests the daily NIST vulnerability feeds and monitors software vendors’ Web sites relevant to SAP’s environment to identify new vulnerabilities. SAP will identify vulnerabilities that may not have a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) designation, with responses aligned to the CVSS.
Incident management type
Complies with a recognised standard, for example, CSA CCM v4.0 or ISO/IEC 27035:2011 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
Incident management approach
All processes and policies are defined following industry standards. Most of these are internal and audited in our SOC2 audit which is made twice a year and available to the customer.
