At Foundant, our goal for implementation is to empower you with the tools you need to be engaged, active leaders of your learning. The following page is an outline of the topics, timeline, and assignments for your 90-day implementation.
Successful implementations require significant commitment to the following:
Attending weekly one-hour implementationcalls with your Implementation Consultant. Implementations include1-3 administrators, although more administratorsmay be addedat an additional cost.
Learning, building, and testing independently prior to your calls with your Implementation Consultant (avg. 4-6 hours weekly).
Ensuring you have made internal decisions about all grant cycle procedures, form content, and your partnership needs prior tothe start of the topics on the following page.
Preparing for and attending weekly training calls with your Implementation Consultant, bringing relevant workflow questions and examples to each call and screen sharing, as needed to demonstrate your knowledge and use of software functionality.

GLM is designed as a purpose-built, configurable solution rather than a custom-coded platform, allowing foundation staff to tailor the system to their unique grantmaking needs without vendor intervention or specialized technical expertise. Its architecture emphasizes flexibility across several core areas:
Configuration Grant Stages: Administrators can independently define grant stages such as "Letter of Inquiry," "Full Application," or "Final Report,"
Customizable Notifications: Foundations can configure automated due-date and overdue notifications for both internal staff and grantees to maintain timeline compliance.
Form Logic: Application and report forms support conditional branching logic, which displays or hides questions based on an applicant's responses or internal record coding.
Custom Fields and Labels: Administrators can add an unlimited number of custom fields to application and report forms to capture organization-specific data requirements.
Microsoft Word Merge: Through a Microsoft Word, users can create standardized document templates that merge data from the system for award letters, reports, and communications.
Data Visualization: Users can create custom visualizations and reports to track portfolio performance and grantmaking impact.

- Beyond TLS encryption in transit, we implement multiple layers of protection between customer and service networks. Network-level security includes Web Application Firewalls to filter malicious traffic and DDoS protection through our cloud provider. Authentication controls require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all users and support enterprise SSO/SAML integration. We maintain protection against OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities through regular security testing. Comprehensive security monitoring includes real-time threat detection, security event logging with audit trails, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Our security program maintains compliance with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 frameworks, includes regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, and enforces data residency controls.

- Requests for changs or enhancements to the platform can come from clients or internal personnel. Foundant, reviews, prioritized and assigned changed requests to the change iterations that are launched every two weeks. Change management activities are tracked within the project management tool. A change is authorized for development when it is assigned to the iteration. Foundant maintains separate environments for development testing and production. Code is checked out, and peer reviewed before merging back into the code repository. The change is then deployed and tested. Product owners give final approval of the change. Changes are then communicated to the customer.
