End-of-contract data extraction
Video surveillance data is primarily stored on on-premise devices that remain the property of the user after a contract ends, and retrieval of stored footage is possible from the on-premise device without an on-going cloud subscription. Cloud Stored data can be exported at anytime to users assigned the appropriate permissions.
End-of-contract process
At the end of an OpenEye web services contract, the user is notified of the contract expiration or non‑renewal based on agreed terms. The user should download or archive any required video footage, reports, or data before the contract end date, as access to cloud services and stored video will be disabled after expiration. Connected devices stop communicating with OpenEye cloud services, and user accounts are deactivated. Any remaining hardware remains the customer’s responsibility, and data retention or deletion is handled in accordance with OpenEye’s data retention and privacy policies.

Scaling

Independence of resources
OpenEye protects users from being impacted by other customers’ demand through a multi‑tenant cloud architecture designed for isolation and scalability. Customer environments are logically separated, ensuring video data, storage, and processing are kept independent. The platform uses elastic cloud infrastructure that automatically scales compute, storage, and bandwidth to handle fluctuating workloads. System monitoring, capacity planning, and load balancing are continuously applied so no single customer’s usage degrades performance or availability for others.

Security governance standards

Information security policies and processes
OpenEye follows documented information security policies and processes designed to protect customer data and platform availability. These include access control and identity management policies, data encryption and secure data handling practices, vulnerability management and patching processes, and secure software development lifecycle standards.

Security governance is supported by a defined reporting structure in which security responsibilities are assigned to leadership and operational teams. Designated security and IT leaders are responsible for policy ownership, risk management, and incident oversight, with regular reporting to senior management. Policies are enforced through role‑based controls, technical safeguards, and formal procedures.

OpenEye ensures policies are followed through continuous system monitoring, logging, and auditing, scheduled reviews of access and configurations, periodic risk assessments, and employee security awareness training. Deviations or incidents are tracked, investigated, and remediated through established incident response and corrective action processes.

Operational security

Configuration and change management standard
Supplier-defined controls
Configuration and change management approach
OpenEye’s configuration and change management approach is designed to maintain service reliability, security, and traceability throughout the lifecycle of all service components. Platform components such as software, cloud infrastructure, and supporting services are identified, documented, and tracked from deployment through retirement using configuration records and version control systems.
Proposed changes are documented, reviewed, and approved prior to implementation, with consideration given to operational and customer impact. Security impact is assessed as part of the change review.
Configuration baselines, patch management, and regular reviews help ensure systems remain secure, consistent, and aligned with approved standards over time.
Vulnerability management type
Supplier-defined controls
Vulnerability management approach
OpenEye’s vulnerability management process is focused on proactively identifying, assessing, and remediating security risks across its services. Potential threats are assessed through continuous monitoring of cloud infrastructure, applications, and supporting systems, combined with regular vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and internal security reviews. Identified vulnerabilities are evaluated based on severity, exploitability, and potential impact to customers and services.

OpenEye prioritises remediation using risk‑based criteria. Critical and high‑risk vulnerabilities are patched or mitigated as quickly as possible, often on an accelerated timeline, while lower‑risk issues are addressed through scheduled maintenance and updates.

Information about potential threats is obtained from multiple trusted sources.
Protective monitoring type
Supplier-defined controls
Protective monitoring approach
Potential compromises are identified through continuous monitoring of cloud infrastructure, applications, and network activity.
When a potential compromise is detected, OpenEye follows a defined incident response process. The issue is triaged to confirm scope and severity, affected systems are isolated or access is restricted if necessary, and remediation actions such as patching, configuration changes, or credential resets are applied. Investigations are documented, root causes are analysed, and corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence. Customers and stakeholders are notified when required.

OpenEye responds to incidents based on severity, with critical security events addressed immediately and around the clock.
Incident management type
Supplier-defined controls
Incident management approach
OpenEye maintains pre‑defined incident response procedures and playbooks for common events such as unauthorised access attempts, service outages, malware detection, and data security incidents.
Users can report incidents or suspected security issues through OpenEye’s customer support channels. Internally detected incidents follow the same formal workflow and escalation process.

Incident reports are documented throughout the incident lifecycle. For significant incidents, OpenEye provides customers with timely notifications and post‑incident summaries when appropriate, detailing the nature of the incident, impact, actions taken, and remediation steps. These reports support transparency, accountability, and ongoing service improvement.
