Onboarding and offboarding

Getting started
Quantium's structured onboarding programme typically takes 3-4 weeks and includes:

- Dedicated project management
- Role-specific online training sessions. Typically 2x 1-hour sessions covering core and advanced functionality per module
- Train-the-trainer support for super-users, with recorded training sessions for future staff
- Configuration of the application for organisation-specific requirements, including technical deployment and configuration, data pipeline setup, establishment of workflows for organisation-specific requirements, creation of custom LLM outputs
- Migration of historical data (2 years as standard) to provide meaningful analytics immediately upon go-live
- Post go-live hypercare to ensure a smooth transition

End-of-contract data extraction
The Quantium Health platform typically operates entirely within the trust's own Federated Data Platform (FDP) tenant - data never leaves the trust's infrastructure. At contract end, the Quantium Health platform is decommissioned but all historical data remains accessible through the FDP platform. Data export support is available during offboarding if required. On written request, Quantium will delete any Client Personal Data held (unless legally required to retain).
End-of-contract process
Upon contract termination, Quantium will provide robust offboarding support to ensure a smooth transition back to manual processes or an incoming supplier, and prevent vendor lock-in.

The termination notice period provides sufficient time to ensure an orderly transition, with agreed account management and customer success services unchanged until the final day of the contract, and will include guidance and best practice to navigate the transition and optimise usage until the final day of the engagement.

The Quantium Health platform is decommissioned from the trust's FDP tenant. All historical data remains accessible through the FDP platform after this point. Data is never transferred to Quantium and remains under trust ownership throughout. Data export support and deletion of trust's Personal Data is available on request.

FDP/Palantir platform infrastructure costs are covered under a separate contract between the trust and NHS England. Any significant bespoke development beyond standard configuration may incur additional charges subject to agreement.
Documentation accessibility standard
None or don’t know
How the documentation is accessible
Onboarding information includes:
- Recordings of training sessions and other supporting content to drive user engagement
- User guides embedded into the application and accessible to all users
- Account management support for any unexpected issues or questions about edge cases

Offboarding:
The Quantium Health platform is typically deployed through an individual organisation's Federated Data Platform (FDP) instance. This means that data is automatically retained and accessible to trusts even after termination of a contract and expiration of the service

Service interface
Yes
User support accessibility
None or don’t know
Description of service interface
The Quantium Health platform provides a modern web-based interface built on Palantir Foundry Workshop framework. The interface includes interactive dashboards with data visualisations, filtering capabilities, and drill-down functionality. Users access role-specific views with tailored KPIs and metrics. The interface supports document upload, AI-assisted data entry, case management workflows, and correspondence generation. Navigation follows standard web application patterns with menu-driven access to different modules.
Accessibility standards
None or don’t know
Description of accessibility
The Quantium Health Platform is embedded into the NHS Federated Data Platform, rather than users accessing it through a separate user interface. The FDP platform itself is WCAG 2.1 AA compliant.

Accessibility requirements are therefore met through the overall platform that Quail is deployed in, rather than Quail directly.
Accessibility testing
The Quantium Health Platform is typically embedded into the Palantir Federated Data Platform, which is WCAG 2.1 AA compliant.

Customisation available
Yes
Description of customisation
The Quantium Health platform is highly configurable for each organisation, and adapts to organisation specific ways of working.

This includes organisation-specific workflows, user group permissions, theme taxonomies, dashboard filters, and report layouts.

The product is AI-first, so utilises cutting-edge AI models where possible. The outputs produced by the models are adapted by Quantium for organisation-specific requirements, for example prompt engineering for a specific organisational workflow.

Configuration options include trust-specific terminology, organisational structure mapping, escalation rules and compliance reporting metrics. Custom fields can be added to case management forms. Email templates and automated notifications are configurable. Data retention policies and access control matrices can be tailored to trust requirements.

Further configuration parameters may be available on a case-by-case basis.

Scaling

Independence of resources
The Quantium Health platform is typically deployed within each organisation's dedicated FDP tenant or on their own space within Quantium's tenant, ensuring complete resource isolation from other organisation. Each organisation has its own Foundry workspace with dedicated compute and storage resources. Palantir Foundry provides multi-tenancy architecture with strict resource allocation and performance isolation. Customer workloads do not impact other tenants. Resource capacity is configured based on customer requirements during implementation.

Metrics types
Metrics on the product allow organisations to identify areas of under-usage and identify and spread areas of excellence usage.

The tool provides comprehensive usage metrics including daily active users, module access frequency, dashboard view counts, case processing volumes, correspondence generation statistics, AI processing usage, data storage consumption, and system response times. Metrics cover user activity patterns, feature adoption rates, workflow completion times, and system performance indicators. Executive dashboards show key performance indicators and trend analysis.

Data importing and exporting

Data export approach
Users export data through Palantir Foundry's native export functionality accessible from dashboard views and dataset interfaces. Export options include filtered datasets, full table exports, and report outputs. Users simply select desired data objects, choose export format (e.g. CSV, JSON and XML), and download files directly. Bulk exports can be automated via Foundry's scheduling capabilities. API-based exports can be made available for integration with other systems.

Data-in-transit protection

Data protection between buyer and supplier networks
  • TLS (version 1.2 or above)
  • IPsec or TLS VPN gateway
Data protection within supplier network
Other
Other protection within supplier network
All data is stored in local trust FDP tenants.

Additional protections include network segmentation to isolate environments, firewall restriction on traffic to authorised endpoints only, intrusion detection/prevention systems monitoring network traffic, regular security audits of network configurations, and adherence to NHS Digital security standards for network connectivity.

Each organisation has their own FDP tenant, eliminating data exchange risks between tenants.

Foundry implements zero-trust network architecture with identity-based access. All API calls are authenticated and authorised. Role-based access restricts data to authorised users only. Purpose-based access ensures users only access role-appropriate data. Network activity is continuously monitored with automated threat detection.

Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
The Quantium Health platform's availability is governed by Palantir Foundry platform SLA which provides 99.5% uptime for production environments. Planned maintenance windows are scheduled outside UK Business Hours where possible with advance notification.

Service degradation is monitored in real-time with automated alerts. Availability metrics are reported monthly including uptime percentage, incident response times, and resolution durations.
Approach to resilience
The Quantium Health platform is built on Palantir Foundry's resilient cloud infrastructure with redundancy across multiple availability zones within UK data centres. Data is replicated automatically for high availability. Application components are distributed to eliminate single points of failure. Automated failover mechanisms ensure service continuity. Load balancing distributes traffic across multiple servers. Daily backups enable rapid recovery from data issues.
Outage reporting
Service outages are communicated via email notifications to designated customer contacts. Status updates are provided through standard support channels. Major incidents trigger immediate notification with regular progress updates. Post-incident reports detail root cause analysis and preventive measures. Planned maintenance is communicated at least 5 Business Days in advance with clear impact assessment.
