Planning
- Planning service
- Yes
- How the planning service works
- The Discovery generates a prioritised roadmap and plan for the implementation or optimisation of data-intensive applications in Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud environments. Cloud readiness assessment for on-premise applications considers migration options and modernisation approaches that leverage Cloud managed compute and storage technologies. We identify and work with organisation stakeholders to assess their application estate during a time-bound discovery engagement of 4-weeks to 3-months, depending on size and complexity of application and data estate. Prior to this, we will run an initial workshop with the organisation to discuss the applications and workflows that we both believe would most benefit from Cloud Technologies. From this, we will focus our assessment to identify key quick-win projects that will maximise Cloud benefits and minimise lead time for migration/optimisation. In addition the plan will encompass more time-intensive elements to provide a comprehensive, staged Migration/Optimisation Plan for your key applications and workflows.

- How the setup or migration service works
- Due to our deep technical knowledge of an extensive range of public and private Cloud technologies, we are experienced in removing obstacles that prevent Cloud adoption or migration to and between Cloud platforms. We have built Migration tools for the largest possible On Premise to Cloud migrations in time-sensitive cases, and we use this experience to accelerate migrations of all sizes. We are ready to assist in staged migrations, whereby we will integrate existing premise technologies with Cloud environments, or full migrations in which comprehensive data capture and transfer tools may be needed. In all cases we will consult with your organisation to understand the goal and provide the services required to deliver.

Fighting climate change
Anaeko runs a sustainable business and we’re currently on a mission to help Clients across public and private sector transport and logistics providing data analytics solutions that report on carbon emissions and key performance indications (KPIs) across their operations that assist them in data-driven decisions for sustainability and implementing carbon reduction.
Anaeko has a carbon reduction plan in place that covers scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions.
Initiatives that we have taken to reduce our carbon footprint and eliminate waste include:
• Promoting electric vehicle use with charge points at our office, enrolment with providers for UK Government salary sacrifice scheme for Electric Vehicle leasing.
• Encouraging staff to commute by bicycle through enrolment on the UK government Cycle2Work scheme.
• Encouraging staff to use public transport.
• Long haul travel and flights require justification at senior management level against alternatives such as video conferencing.
• Flexible working policy supports working from home and our use of digital/online services and video conferencing facilitates this. Office space, heating and lighting has been sized accordingly to avoid waste.
• Waste recycling is supported with appropriate separation through recycling bins and removal of single use items from the workplace such as paper or plastic cups.
• Paperless policy is in place with all information shared online.
• We have reduced onsite datacentre equipment, and we leverage cloud compute for internal workloads such as our company website and for Client managed services workloads. For IT infrastructure we use best practice for sustainability such as turning off virtual servers where necessary and right-sizing compute and storage capacity and setting appropriate data retention policies.Covid-19 recovery
Anaeko recognises the impact of COVID-19 on businesses, communities, and individuals. Those who are disadvantaged, underprivileged and marginalised in society have suffered worse consequences from the pandemic.
At Anaeko we have a long record of supporting remote working, with staff and client teams distributed across the globe. We have policies, processes, and digital tools in place, supporting home office and remote working. Anaeko has a wellbeing policy with free support to staff from mental health experts. We were very well placed to deal with the pandemic, through these and other measures. Lessons learned during the pandemic have been incorporated in our policies and processes, and we continue to make improvements.
Youths in education were impacted at all key stages of development in terms of developing social skills, their resilience, and impacts on mental health. For many their safe space for learning and development was unavailable to them for long periods. Health care provision was impacted, with increased waiting lists and extended time to receive diagnosis and treatments.
At Anaeko we continue with our contributions to society through our actions and works for digital inclusion, improved patient pathways and outcomes, developing client solutions to combat climate change, and many other tech-for-good initiatives.
Anaeko continues to take a lead role in driving health and social care initiatives, working with health tech partners and start-up companies on innovative solutions for improved patient care and pathways. For example, working with universities and national health services on a programme for access to broader data sets for cancer research, focussing initially on children’s cancer and colorectal cancer.
For measures that we currently have in place to support our youth in education and career development please refer to our statements in the section with title “Tackling Economic Inequality”.Tackling economic inequality
For Unwaged Work Placement Anaeko is undertaking to provide work placement participants with meaningful work experience, training and development which will enhance their opportunities for future employment. Specifically, we will provide:
• Short, medium, and long-term work placements on both a paid and unpaid basis.
• Work experience placements to neurodiverse people who are otherwise at risk of social exclusion.
• A supported environment and buddy system whereby placements can learn entry-level skills on low-code and data tooling platforms that form an essential first step in data literacy. It is our experience that such placements constitute a valuable stepping-stone to a fulfilling career in an in-demand competency.
Delivery of business in education support is important to Anaeko and we plan to extend voluntary services performed by individual staff to youth coding groups such as Coder Dojo and youth entrepreneurship such as Generation Innovation. Anaeko has supported Generation Innovation for several years and has a goal to emphasise Digital Inclusion in the 2024 programme.
We continue to support Queens University Belfast (QUB) Bright Future Collective. As a member of the Bright Future Collective, Anaeko partners with Queen’s to give talented young people, who face additional barriers in life, the opportunity to fulfil their potential through higher education. Members connect with current and prospective students involved with the Pathway Opportunity Programme, a widening access initiative developed by Queen’s, which engages with approximately 250 young people across Northern Ireland each year.Equal opportunity
At Anaeko, our people centric company culture is driven by our shared values, systems and beliefs which guide our day-to-day work and interactions with our stakeholders. We pride ourselves on being the best we can be to build a successful business that is respectful of and respected by all stakeholders and the environment and society in which we operate. One of our core company values is to run an ethical business in all that we do. We actively contribute to and cultivate external communities including start-ups networks, collaborative networks, business networks and youth development. We are an ethical workplace promoting employment rights, equality, diversity, inclusion, compassion, tolerance, integrity, and loyalty.
Anaeko’s equal opportunities policy is available to all staff from our online Quality Management System, is reviewed in consultation with employees, and is summarised as follows.
Anaeko provides equal opportunity for all job applicants and employees. All recruitment, promotion and training are based on an individual's ability and job performance and excludes any consideration of an applicant's/employee's religious beliefs, political opinion, gender, marital status, or disability.
Anaeko is committed to the maintenance of a neutral working environment in which no worker feels under threat or intimidated because of his/her religious belief or political opinion.
Anaeko ensures that recruitment and selection procedures are consistent, provide equality of opportunity and are seen to be fair by all employees and job applicants. Selection is based on ability to do the job in question.
Anaeko Limited will not directly or indirectly discriminate on the grounds of religious belief or political opinion.Wellbeing
Health and wellbeing of employees, contractors and client staff is extremely important to Anaeko. Physical and mental wellbeing initiatives are promoted and supported by the Anaeko management team and through our HR function. This includes full healthcare packages and access to annual health checks provided free to all staff. Wellbeing resources are available from our online Quality Management System (QMS) HR section, and we openly encourage all employees to use these resources and to talk to their line manager, HR, senior management, or other colleagues if they are experiencing pressures where help can be given directly or through other parties.
Mental wellbeing is actively supported by the senior management team and HR function and is incorporated in core modules of our staff training programme. Counselling services are delivered by our healthcare provider and are freely available to all staff.
Anaeko’s management team ensure that policies for regular contact with remote workers are followed and that staff, contractors and clients receive support they need and that they don’t feel isolated and to reduce risk of anxiety.
Our staff social committee organises regular events to maintain a strong sense of inclusion, and these continue to have a very positive impact on staff morale. Anaeko funds staff events, and some of are in support of charities chosen by staff and senior management.
These initiatives are in addition to core policies captured in our employee handbook and QMS, and that could be expected from a mature ethical organisation, such as equal opportunities, anti-bullying, whistleblowing, and much more.
