The Dot Collective reviews how the software would sit within your current platform eco-system understand core components such as integration points.
Work with the supplier to demo or build out PoCs where necessary to ensure the product is fit for purpose and realise any core platform changes needed for implementation.
Build out options papers where key decisions need to be made around the approach or clearly outlining the pros and conns to each case across areas such as stability, operations and cost.
Align with current standards to ensure Security and non-functional requirements can be met by working with key stakeholders in security and operation teams.

We can carry out a capability assessment working with Cloud or Product venders to ensure learning and development needs are met. Building approaches through a multitude of media types and hackathons provides an in-depth understanding of the technology catering to different learning styles.
As part of this we look at specific knowledge alongside transferable skills and techniques that can help teams beyond the specific toolsets they are needing to learn.
Given the different make of skills and responsibilities within a team we look to tailor training approaches to the different needs of the roles within a team as well the team as a whole. - Training is tied to specific services

- How the setup or migration service works
-
The Dot Collective works with key stakeholders to identify the key workflows alongside the current technologies used. With this discovery information a migration plan can be built up around grouping and prioritising workflows alongside the migration approach itself. Working in an iterative manner ensuring demos and feedback loops along the journey.
As part of reviewing workloads we identify which migration strategy best suits from lift and shift then change to a complete redesign for the cloud. As part of this decision making we ensure we document the approach alongside any key decision made in the process ensure PoCs are carried out to reduce risk around specific options.
With regards to the switchover to Cloud we look at the feasible service impact that can be tolerated from doing a big bang if a service can tolerated extended down time to a phased duel running setup when downtime is not an option.
At each stage we design the migration plan closely with stakeholders ensuring clarity and alignment provided by clear runbooks on activities with relevant Go / No Go calls booked in. To reduce risk we carry out dry runs to ensure processes around rollbacks or other scenarios can be successfully executed. - Setup or migration service is for specific cloud services

We look at a multi-layered approach to quality and assurance with respect to the process of the development lifecycle, whether that be with a SaaS / PaaS solution or a native Cloud build.
From a code quality perspective, we look to proactively shift-left where possible with automated tools such as linters, formatters alongside security scanners on code and their respective dependencies.
Automated infrastructure, config and smoke tests enables a level of confidence to the infrastructure ensuring it is aligned with the application needs.

The Dot Collective marries the ITIL Framework with an SRE approach to cloud support. This enables a clear well understood way of working alongside the benefits of the SRE approach around platform improvements and observability.
As part of onboarding a managed service we work with delivery & product teams to understand pain points for any remediation activities needed to help promote a stable platform. This includes reviewing incident volumes, change processes and existing runbooks.
To ensure quality of service we work with teams to define incident priority definitions, reporting channels around service metrics such as incidents time to completion for SLAs.
Aside from the incident management and BAU tasks we look to iteratively improve the platform in line with business values, where a metric driven approach is taken to define tangible value add. This includes for example reducing deployment time through additional automation and config management. Tracking and right sizing jobs for cost and capacity management.

The Dot Collective on:
Diversity
There are many dimensions to the diversity, from race, gender, age and sexual orientation to political beliefs and life choices. All these dimensions are independent from each other and it's the tapestry of various combinations of these individual dimensions that make us unique human beings. Representation matters and the more people you can see around you to whom you can relate to across these multiple dimensions the safer and more comfortable it generally feels.
The Dot Collective was born in London and it's not a coincidence. Same as this amazing city, we are a melting pot of different cultures and influences and celebrate our people's personal journeys, whatever shape they take.
Equality
We are a consultancy business and the only "product" we really have is our people, their creativity, talent and ingenuity. Ensuring fairness, equal opportunities and impartiality in all aspects of the organization is prime which is why all employees have equity in the company.
We are also committed to breaking the cycle of inequitable pay because everyone should be equally rewarded for work of equal value. This ambition leads us to constantly monitor pay equity and the gender pay gap to ensure parity across the business.
Inclusion
The Dot Collective was born of its founders dream to create a company where everyone could just be what they are, dream big and do great things. We celebrate uniqueness, quirkiness and complexity of the human nature.
We strive to ensure that every aspect of our culture empowers people to be themselves and learn from each other.
We believe that authenticity, diversity and inclusion are closely inter-linked and it's impossible to build a great workplace environment without paying attention to all three, it is what shapes our daily interactions, best ideas and culture after all.Wellbeing
