- How the planning service works

To build detailed knowledge of the context and domain for any project, an initial phase of planning, definition and knowledge transfer will generally take place at the start of an engagement, we call this as Discovery phase. This discovery phase brings together key stakeholders – from business leaders to technical SME’s and users – to define project expectations and desired outcomes.
Through facilitated discussions and activities, we'll work with you to:
- Get Everyone on the Same Page: We'll make sure everyone understands the project's purpose and what achieving success looks like.
- Uncover Your Current State: We'll gain a clear picture of your existing processes, systems, and potential challenges.
- Map User Needs: We'll identify and prioritise the needs of those who'll be impacted by the project.
- Define Technical Considerations: We'll outline any technical limitations or opportunities relevant to the project scope.
- Develop a Prioritised Roadmap: We'll collaboratively create a clear plan that outlines key milestones and deliverables.
By the end of the Discovery phase, you'll have a shared vision for the project, a prioritised roadmap, and a deeper understanding of the journey ahead.
This initial inception phase can be contracted separately if required. - Planning service works with specific services

- How the setup or migration service works
- We specialise in migrating Cloudera Hadoop workloads to Microsoft Azure, ensuring a seamless cloud transition. Our team assists clients from initial setup through to live service optimisation, tailoring migration strategies to each project's unique needs. We use methods like sidecar migration, where existing and new environments run in parallel for gradual, minimally disruptive transfers, and replatforming, which minimises code changes while enhancing performance with cloud-native services. Our focus on automation improves testing and deployment efficiencies, delivering substantial ROI. We proactively address integration, dependencies, and risks, tracking actionable metrics to achieve predefined success criteria and KPIs. Our collaborative approach fosters continuous learning and service improvement. We leverage our expertise to configure automated cloud deployment environments, supporting reliable and repeatable software testing and deployment through to production. Our comprehensive service includes assessing existing environments, planning migrations carefully, and executing them with minimal disruption. Post-migration, we offer robust support including performance optimisation and ongoing management, ensuring a successful and smooth transition to Microsoft Azure.

During an engagement, we assign a development team that not only builds but also manages the live service, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. Each team is led by a dedicated lead, who serves as the primary contact and is supported by our Client Management team throughout the project. This arrangement ensures seamless integration of development and ongoing management.
We recommend establishing a support plan, a service responsibility matrix, and appropriate service levels at the outset to meet the client’s specific needs. The development team is responsible for providing both second-tier (infrastructure-related, aligned with hosting support contracts) and third-tier (application-related) support during regular business hours, with the option for customized round-the-clock on-call support if necessary.
Our approach includes regular reviews of the service and performance against the agreed deliverables and timelines, as well as continuous monitoring of contractual performance against the established SLAs. This ongoing evaluation helps ensure that the service adapts to the evolving needs of both internal and external users. Additionally, we adhere strictly to service and program management procedures, including the production, maintenance, and monitoring of program and risk management plans to ensure client satisfaction and uphold the agreed service levels.
