Utilising lean thinking principles, we concentrate on enhancing business and user value by streamlining outdated processes through an outside-in perspective on problem-solving. Fighting climate change
Our planet must be protected, and we believe that everyone, including organisations large and small, must play their part. As an SME, our ability to contribute to the wider agenda is limited to how we operate as an organisation and influence our staff, suppliers, and communities to adopt a responsible approach. As a business, we have a Net Zero Strategy to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2035, and to this end, we encourage all staff to do whatever possible to consider the impact of what they do on the environment. This includes encouraging staff to travel when only necessary and as an alternative to always consider using technologies such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom; and to be responsible when dealing with waste, and recycling wherever possible. If travel is required, our travel policy is to travel by train, and if travel by car is necessary, to lift share. When it comes to our suppliers and communities, the same very much applies - travel if only necessary, and to always consider the most environmentally friendly option.Covid-19 recovery
Orchestrato are an SME with big ambitions, and our opportunity to work with the Government will provide us with the opportunity to create employment, re-training, and other return-to-work activities for those impacted by COVID-19. As a business, we specialise in the high-growth technology sector, and at the time of application to G Cloud we are in the process of establishing a Degree Apprenticeship Scheme and launching a return-to-work scheme for parents affected by the pandemic. Our Degree Apprenticeship Scheme supports local students who had their studies affected by Covid-19, and who otherwise might have gone to university, and our return-to-work scheme will provide a fast-track training programme to deliver core skills and restore confidence to those who have been out of a workplace setting for an extended period. From a community perspective, we provide training to individuals unfamiliar with remote working technologies such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom which will improve their chances to secure remote working employment.Tackling economic inequality
We all have a responsibility to help tackle economic inequality. As an SME, we play our part via the creation of employment and training opportunities in our local community, through offering employment and developing skills in young people, for skill-short industries such as programming and software development, as well as other IT & Software skills. Our new Degree Apprenticeship scheme in association with local universities provides college leavers with the chance to develop life-changing skills and knowledge which will set them up for life. From a supply chain resilience perspective, we believe very strongly in managing cyber security risks in the delivery of all of our work, and for this reason, we are Cyber Essentials Certified, and our security policies align with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) guidelines and industry best practice.Equal opportunity
We believe Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDE) are key pillars within any ESG framework, and of utmost importance when making any corporate decisions. Today's workforce looks beyond what employers need to do to comply with legislation and Orchestrato want to be an exemplar of this. For this reason, we work hard to ensure that the diversity of both our staff and deployed resources are as broad as possible, by ensuring that our recruitment policy and process encourage the progression of skills from disadvantaged and minority groups for the benefit of the future digital economy.Wellbeing
The health and well-being of our staff are integral to the success of our business, evidenced by the way our staff are encouraged to look after themselves and look out for each other, which includes both physical and mental health. We encourage our staff to take regular breaks and to get out of the office for fresh air and daily exercise. We have an Employee Health and Well-being Policy which encourages staff to talk about any challenges they are facing during their one-to-ones, and we also provide staff access to a free anonymous mental health counselling service operated by our company healthcare provider.
