Fighting climate change

Accordant Solutions has been at Net Zero for 3 years and we continue to deliver against that pledge. We subscribe to carbon off-setting via Ecologi; supporting projects both in the UK and abroad. We work with our customers to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions where possible in our delivery.

Covid-19 recovery

During Covid-19 we subscribed to the government Kick Starter scheme and have retained the two employees we recruited, quickly moving to full-time workers, and investing time and training to become senior Technology Professionals on market rate pay. We enabled all our workforce to work from home and eliminated all travelling during the Covid lock-down period, our customers were all fully supportive and we continue to invest in a working from home basis for all employees and sub-contractors. During lock-down we ensured regular informal communication through telephone and video conferencing, with formal team conferences taking place at least weekly ensuring teaming and socialisation remained a strong priority for our business.

Tackling economic inequality

As a designated small business, we concentrate on recruiting individuals at the start of their career and training into senior and C Suite positions. We are cognizant of the difficulty small businesses face in our sector and we work with similar sized companies to help achieve growth, through formal work methodologies and joint ventures. Our employees and sub-contractors are based UK wide, from the Northeast to the Southwest of England and Wales, our Working from Home Policy enables us to support our workers wherever they may be based. Our training and mentoring allow for industry specific qualifications across technologies including directly supporting the government Security Clearance scheme. Our supply chain and customers cover a wide breath of companies including Start-Ups, International Corporates, Local Authorities and the Not for Profit sectors. Our customer base enables an ideal mix of work and experience for our employees and sub-contractors. We develop and sell innovative in-house products that automate and provide speed of delivery; examples include Cost Justification Strategies and Technology Automation Products. In addition, we are at an advanced stage of working with AI to further enhance our internal offerings to enable low-cost scaling for our customers. Our delivery ethos includes working closely with all our customers, often on-site, with our delivery continuously comprising of one or more of our workforce travelling internationally to work alongside our customers. Our close working relationship enables us often to be quoted as a ‘Trusted Advisor’ rather than just a ‘Delivery Partner’. Our main delivery is Cyber Security and our specialisms in this field are unique in the Marketplace; we have in-dept knowledge of cyber security risks and have a wealth of international experience assessing and mitigating such risks. We have partnerships with companies such as Cisco and Symantec to consult, advise and deliver their software.

As a home based work force we are aware of the challenges this could bring and work hard to ensure inclusiveness in our day to day work; this includes daily contact via video/telephone/on-line chat forums, as well as formal teaming weekly meetings, and regular face to face sessions, both formal and informal via social evenings and activities. We are supportive of our colleagues time to pursue leisure activities during the working day to provide additional mental stimulation as well as physical exercise.
