Configuration and change management approach
Changes to Benchmark Estimating software and features follow secure software development practices, including security risk reviews prior to launch. Developer access to production environments is via explicit access system requests, subject to owner review and authorisation.

All production environment changes are reviewed, tested and approved. Stages include design, documentation, implementation (including rollback procedures), testing (non-production environment), peer to peer review (business impact/technical rigour/code), final approval by authorised party.

Emergency changes follow Benchmark incident response procedures. Exceptions to change management processes are documented and escalated to management.

Vulnerability management approach
Benchmark has an approved documented Operations Security Policy to manage technical vulnerabilities. Assessment is done using vulnerability scanning, penetration tests, review of external vendors, system alerts. Critical vulnerabilities assessed shall be patched or remediated within 30 days. Benchmark monitors newsfeeds/vendor sites for patches.

Intrution Detection System notifications are configured to notify real time alerts, VPC flow logs and S3 server access logs are enabled. Only authorized users can access logging buckets. Logs provide request information to perform investigation combined with AWS CloudTrial logs.
