Fighting climate changeFighting climate change
As part of our 2023-24 plan, ERG has implemented a sustainability and energy-saving policy that will help with reducing environmental impact and waste; we are re-purposing equipment for further use; improving employee health/work environment and knowledge surrounding our impact; encouraging similar practices outside of work; and cost savings. We are awaiting a report to calculate our electric use and carbon footprint, and to implement changes to reduce our output. We are installing new lighting to reduce our electric output by 50% from 85W to 40W. Our communal areas will have sensors, reducing output by 20%. Our heating is being upgraded to newer models which reduce consumption by 30%. This will all be in place by the end of Q2 2024. We encourage our staff to use public transport for business meetings and commuting and have implemented a policy that requires Senior Directors with business leases to use electric vehicles. We raise awareness of our policy through visual notices around our head office and ensure it is accessible to all employees. We communicate openly with staff, to educate, and encourage them to support our practices and inspire new ideas and initiatives.
