Fighting climate change
Combating climate change is one of the biggest challenges we face today. We recognise that to succeed, all the elements of our employees, supply chain, partners, and customers must contribute. The main objectives of all Telicent climate change support activities are:
To improve awareness and understanding of climate change amongst our team.
To demonstrate that daily activities can collectively make a big difference and that everyone has a role to play in the fight.
To motivate employees, supply chain, partners, and customers to undertake these small, significant changes to their daily routine.
Telicent will communicate and enact its climate change support and direction in the following ways:
Building a culture of awareness. Making sustainability part of our culture, both in and out of the office.
Rethinking our waste. We are consistently thinking about ways we can cut down waste
Reducing our travel. We are a remote-first company, using video conferencing technology to conduct our business virtually wherever possible. Working flexibly, with minimising travel and using public transport wherever possible
Working with environmentally conscious vendors. We continuously consider our supply chain and providers, ensuring that our values align. We use local vendors and suppliers where possible, supporting the local economy and reducing our carbon footprint.
Saving energy. We are reducing the number of active service elements and encouraging our customers to do likewise.
Using the cloud. Cloud computing is the Telicent approach of choice, maximising energy, and resource efficiency, reducing footprint and providing flexibility. It also cuts back on hardware and manufacturing, plus the emissions associated with both.Covid-19 recovery
Telicent was founded just before the Covid-19 crisis and we continued hiring throughout lockdown to ensure support to the workforce and to provide job security. Throughout Covid-19, we did not furlough any employees and introduced fully remote flexible working for all employees.Tackling economic inequality
Telicent will proactively tackle economic inequality in line with the Social Value Model Outcomes. We will:
Support entrepreneurship, growth and business creation through our active participation in industry communities and network of partners and startups.
Support diverse employment through our recruitment policy based on equality and inclusivity from job advert to appointment. This involves screening candidates according to their skills and experience and not personal characteristics. We will target deprived areas and under-represented groups through specialist forums. Where appropriate, we allow additional time to complete candidate recruitment tasks, change the interview format and/or location and/or present information differently.
Provide a flexible and progressive workplace that aligns to the five foundational principles of quality work: fair pay (all staff are paid above the Living Wage); participation; progression; voice; and autonomy.
Provide education and training by investing in learning, development and progression opportunities for our employees.
Offer school and student placements to encourage more people into the technology industry to address skills shortages.Equal opportunity
Telicent is an equal opportunity employer and we proactively create an inclusive working environment. We are committed to promoting equality and diversity and promoting a culture that actively values difference and recognises that people from different backgrounds and experiences can bring valuable insights to the workplace and enhance the way we work. We do this by:
Advertising job opportunities widely, targeting specific areas and under-represented groups.
Removing unconscious bias by screening candidates according to their skills and experience and not personal characteristics.
Supporting disabled candidates by allowing additional time to complete candidate recruitment tasks, changing the interview format and/or location and/or presenting information differently.

Supporting the Armed Forces Covenant.Wellbeing
The wellbeing of our team and clients is paramount. We take an open and non-judgemental attitude towards supporting our team’s mental and physical wellness. We are building an open and caring culture that monitors mental health and challenges stigmas to reduce workplace related stress and ensure people feel supported. We do this by:
Ensuring every voice is heard, and fostering an open and compassionate environment.
