The Living Map platform may not be operational on a Windows phone, this has been due to the fact that all testing carried out by the Living Map product team has been focused on the functionality of the more successful and used mobile devices such as Android and IOS. With the lack of availability of Windows phones to the product team and low user numbers, Living Map further testing has to be carried out in the same process as IOS and Android devices.

End-of-contract data extraction
There is no need to extract the data at the end of the contract, due to Living Map being a SAAS company we do not own or hold any of the data created and collected. All data is held and owned by the map purchaser - this can be seen in our service definition - Users are able to take content data and IMDF data which will be provided in a format that works for them, for example CSV and IMDF format.
End-of-contract process
For customers wishing to no longer use the Living Map platform, there is the ability to purchase the map outright and there is no off-boarding process while still following GDPR. When wishing to terminate the contract, clients are required to carry out until the licence agreement is seen to end and then Living Map will carry out the deletion of the map.

Living Map's offering is front weighted, meaning the bulk of the work that has to be done is the map build, thereafter it is maintenance and management. Fighting climate change

Within our business, we have several environmental initiatives as part of our commitment towards fighting climate change. These include allowing a significant number of workers to move to either a hybrid or homeworking environment whilst we have signed up for a cycle-to-work scheme for those who remain in the office to reduce their carbon footprint. Living Map takes its commitment to reducing its overall carbon footprint seriously. To highlight this, special considerations were taken when choosing an office for those staff that do not work remotely, namely an office with energy-saving lightbulbs, low-wattage appliances and energy efficiency. Living Map, whenever possible, will undertake meetings through online methods such as Zoom, Teams and Google Meet to reduce the carbon footprint of staff. Our long-term plans going forward are to become 100% paper-free as a business through DocuSign and other paperless initiatives. Living Map, as noted earlier, promotes a cycle-to-work scheme for all staff based in the office and we look to utilise electric vehicles, and public transport when attending in face meetings. As part of our fight against Climate Change we have proposed techniques such as forestry and to work towards a deal with the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) which is the most widely used greenhouse gas crediting program. Through this, we aim to achieve net zero targets before 2050.

Covid-19 recovery

During COVID-19, 19 staff were able to work from home, furloughed where required, and carry over any holiday that was not used due to pandemic restrictions to both the next and the following year. This ensures they do not lose the benefits afforded to them due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. For the staff that remained, we allowed them to work from home to limit the risk to their personal health and give them more control over their working environment. A smaller office is now being used with a mix of hybrid, remote and office based staff, with the main office used as a hub when there is a companywide meeting. The Living Map platform and the tools within it act in itself as a way for business to manage flow and people when wishing to adhere to social distancing. The ability to pre-plan trips means less time in places where there is a risk of transmission. Living Map is a subscriber to Perkbox which allows all staff to access online health checks, speak to a GP and take part in wellness exercises to promote mental health and wellbeing. Open communication throughout the business also allows for those feeling anxiety or needing time off due to illness. Living Map promotes the use of alternative travel methods to work, such as walking and cycling to help try and improve the general fitness of staff and being outdoors. Avoiding public transport during peak illness times is also suggested, as well as a strict WFH policy when unwell.

Tackling economic inequality

In our commitment to fostering inclusive employment, our organisation is actively working towards implementing an apprenticeship programme. While the apprenticeship scheme is not yet in place, we are adopting a nationwide recruitment approach to avoid bottlenecks. The forthcoming apprenticeship initiative aims to provide practical skills and real-world experience for individuals entering the workforce, addressing barriers related to formal studies and promoting career pathways. The aim of the apprenticeship is to develop well rounded employees that stay with the organisation to grow and develop in unison. Simultaneously, our nationwide recruitment strategy seeks diverse talent from all over the UK, emphasising the importance of a varied workforce. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment, with plans for mentorship programmes and networking opportunities to facilitate the integration of individuals from diverse backgrounds. Avoiding these bottlenecks for Living Map is critical to the success of our company as we work with a broad and varied workforce. If there is the need for Living Map to require suppliers, whether that be for consulting or for physical goods, Living Map encourages diversity and smaller businesses to help provide a better service to its end users. When working abroad, whenever possible, Living Map will look to partner with a local vendor to help boost our ability to provide a better service, whilst simultaneously helping local businesses to grow as well. In order to address the skill shortages, Living Map provides all employees with a personal development fund which can be used on any courses relating to professional improvement, this can also be accessed through Perkbox to allow employees to stay updated on the latest developments in the field. This proactive approach demonstrates our commitment to breaking down barriers and fostering diversity within our organisation.

Equal opportunity

If a member of staff has a disability that impacts their attendance at work, the Company will consider whether any reasonable adjustments could be made to their job or other aspects of their working arrangements to minimise absenteeism or assist their return to work.  The Company aims to ensure that no employee or job applicant is subject to unlawful discrimination, either directly or indirectly, on the grounds of gender, race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic origin), disability, sexual orientation, marital status, part-time status, age, religion, or belief. This commitment applies to all aspects of employment, including:   · Recruitment & selection, advertisements, job descriptions, interview & selection procedures  · Training  · Promotion and career development opportunities  · T&Cs of employment, and access to employment-related benefits and facilities  · Grievance handling and the application of disciplinary procedures  · Selection for redundancy   We are also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains, consistent with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.  Due to the nature of the business, we always have accessibility in mind when it comes to choosing suppliers as well as taking adequate measures to make sure that we can accommodate those clients and communities. This may be done by travelling to those that might not be able or hosting calls and meetings through online channels. Living Map aims to eliminate inequality in employment through the implementation and enforcement of equal opportunity policies to ensure fair treatment of all workers, regardless of their employment status. There is also the concise and clear communication of these policies to both employers and contract workers when used.

Wellbeing

We support the health and well-being of our workforce. All employees are given access to Perkbox which provides access to hundreds of perks, and discounts based on the three pillars of wellbeing: physical, mental and financial.  • Free online fitness classes  • Free online learning resources • Employee assistance programme   • Online GP appointments  • Online shopping discounts  We allow a significant number of our staff to work either fully or partly from home which allows them to control their environment as they see fit and limits the risk to their personal health. Allowing flexible working also has a positive impact on staff’s mental health and wellbeing as they can do school runs, attend appointments, and do other personal tasks whilst not having to worry about work. When we use the term flexible working, this can take any form, whether it is leaving early, coming in late or taking a longer break if needed. We are actively exploring initiatives to enhance our workplace well-being, including training mental health first aiders. While this is a future consideration for new hires, it won't intentionally impact current applications. Our commitment to fostering a supportive work environment aligns with our ongoing efforts to prioritise employee mental health and wellness. In fulfilling contracts, our focus on well-being extends to staff, suppliers, and customers. We prioritise staff's health through robust benefits and a positive work environment, where suppliers, ethical practices and sustainability are encouraged. Customer interactions emphasise transparent communication and user-focused solutions. Health-wise, we prioritise safety protocols for physical well-being and provide resources like counselling services to support mental health. Our commitment extends to creating a network of well-being that encompasses employees and partners, emphasising a comprehensive approach to health and wellness within the scope of contractual engagements.
