Availability and resilience
- Guaranteed availability
-
Physiobuddie aims to provide its service 100% of the time, 24/7. Indeed, one of the advantages of Physiobuddie, is that as patients are able to use the service in their home, on their own terms, they can choose when they do their therapy, as opposed to having a fixed time, real world appointment.
We contract for 99.99% availability. In the event of any outage (we have not had one yet), any downtime is deducted from the next customers bill. - Approach to resilience
- Hosted with AWS, PhysioBuddie is a very resilient service delivering contractually 99.95%+ uptime and in reality 100% (excluding any planned maintenance). We take advantage of all the AWS features, including things like multi-zone hosting so that our service is always there.
- Outage reporting
-
Any outages for our service are reported to customers via telephone and email alerts.
Any clinician or patient attempting to access the service during an outage, would receive an appropriate message at login, to make them aware of existing issues, and give up to date information as it is available.

Social Value
- Fighting climate change
-
Fighting climate change
Physiobuddie knows that it needs to do its bit to help fight climate change. We know that 5-6% of all UK emissions come from healthcare, with people driving to appointments, clinicians travelling around and supplier chain deliveries.
Physiobuddies service delvers physiotherapy in the patients home, reducing or even removing the need for the patient to travel, and allowing the therapist or other clinician to review and support the patient remotely, again without the need to travel.
We believe this contributes to the fight against climate change. - Covid-19 recovery
-
Covid-19 recovery
Physiobuddies remote therapy service, allowing patients to manage their therapy at home, and clinicians to monitor and support them remotely, supports the recovery from Covid 19.
We directly support the ability to avoid face to face contact whilst still delivering care, therefore reducing the possibility of transmission, protecting patient and clinician.
We directly support the virtual wards concepts, enabling patients to be managed in their homes, rather than in hospital facilities.
We help with therapist workload, at a time when there is a shortage of therapists anyway, and many will be impacted by Covid, allowing more patients to receive therapy, and a smaller number of staff to support them. - Tackling economic inequality
-
Tackling economic inequality
Physiobuddie does what it can to support the tackling of economic inequality.
Founded and based in Hull, in East Yorkshire, we are in one of those most deprived parts of the country.
Our business employs a wide range of local people, helping to support the economy locally and tackle inequality. - Equal opportunity
-
Equal opportunity
Physiobuddie is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, colour, sex, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other protected characteristic as outlined by UK laws. - Wellbeing
-
