How the planning service works
EDGEBITS works closely with our clients to plan and migrate their systems, applications and data from their existing physically based environment to the cloud, be it private, public or hybrid. Throughout the planning process our expert team of consultants and engineers assess, analyse and document the existing environment in detail, providing guidance on which elements are cloud-ready, and those that will need attention prior to any migration.
We work with our clients to determine an appropriate and flexible solution that will deliver value and is fully aligned to current business goals.
A fundamental goal of our project planning phase is to ensure that the potential risks of outage and data loss are identified and minimised during the migration process. Our detailed cloud implementation and migration plans are developed following the planning process. Stakeholder engagement is undertaken at every stage of the migration process. Data security is monitored and maintained throughout the cloud migration process.

Effective business needs analysis ensures the recommendation of optimal cloud migration strategies and plans for moving existing workloads to the cloud. EDGEBITS undertakes detailed cloud readiness assessments with clients to ascertain their business, technological, digital and user requirements and identifies ways to reduce potential risks of data loss and increased implementation costs. The assessment forms a significant part of the cloud road mapping exercise and will enable the development of a 'fit for purpose' migration strategy and environment setup state. Without identifying and establishing the right migration model, solutions can become expensive and unproductive. The migration planning process will provide a comprehensive overview of the steps to be taken for a successful migration to be achieved. The setup and staging processes will ready the cloud environment as per the recommendations outlined and agreed in the migration strategy and implementation plan. This ensures that there is no discrepancy between what is required and planned for and what is ultimately delivered. Working closely with the client and their stakeholders will ensure that the migration is completed with minimal disruption to services and frontline and support staff and meets the end users' needs.

A dedicated delivery manager is the first point of contact should problems arise. Specialist Associates are available for non categorised service faults or irregular failures once the environment is live. Prior to 'Go-Live' our team are available to resolve faults if and when they arise. Support is flexible and fully scalable enabling the buyer to adapt to market changes quickly. Service Level Agreements, delivering KPI driven operational reporting and Microsoft’s interactive service dashboards are available.
