Fighting climate change
Sarcen Consulting has a strong commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and minimising the impact of our operations on the environment. As an SME professional services firm we acknowledge our responsibilities in this area and take steps to fulfil our obligations in the most practical and effective manner.
Due to the nature of our work the opportunities to deliver environmental benefits, both in our operations and directly in the performance of commercial contracts, must be highly focussed in order to be effective. This requires us to understand the nature of the impacts and prioritise action accordingly, ensuring our actions work towards the goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring at the same time this does not impact the effectiveness of service delivery.
We regularly monitor energy usage and then take steps to minimise our corporate carbon footprint, with a view to satisfy our longer term objective to become entirely carbon neutral. We have for example recently invested in intelligent batteries to ensure that we maximise the clean electricity generated by the solar array that provides power to our office. We have also taken steps to reduce emissions generated through travel, and we are currently assessing the practicality of using electric cars for corporate travel. This should also enable us to adopt cleaner alternatives for heating and other requirements.
As a professional service firm we strongly believe in promoting awareness of the issues involved in climate change, through training and discussions with staff but also where appropriate with through discussions with clients relating to delivery of work.
