Web chat support accessibility standard
WCAG 2.2 AA
Web chat accessibility testing
Asset Panda’s web chat, powered by a third-party widget (Intercom), provides a generally accessible interface, though experience varies by assistive technology.

Key Accessibility Features:

Keyboard Navigation: The chat trigger is typically reachable via the Tab key. Once opened, users can navigate through message inputs and buttons using standard keyboard controls.

Screen Reader Compatibility: The widget utilizes ARIA labels to identify the chat's purpose. It generally announces new messages, though dynamic updates like "bot is typing" indicators may not always be announced consistently across all screen readers.

Visual Design: The interface employs high-contrast colors (often white, black, and brand orange) that align with WCAG AA standards for text readability. Focus indicators are usually visible, helping sighted keyboard users track their location.

Responsiveness: The chat scales effectively across mobile devices and maintains functionality when browser zoom is increased.

Limitations: Complex interactions, such as selecting options from automated carousels or uploading files, can be difficult for screen reader users. For those requiring full WCAG 2.1 compliance, Asset Panda provides alternative contact methods via email and phone to ensure all users receive support regardless of technical barriers.

End-of-contract data extraction
Upon the termination of a
contract, Asset Panda provides
users with several
mechanisms to retrieve their
data, primarily through self service tools and direct
support. Customers can
download their data in multiple
formats, including Excel and
PDF, directly from the platform.
During the initial onboarding
process, Asset Panda provides
clear guidance on how to
perform these exports to
ensure users can manage their
information independently. If a
client requires additional
assistance, Asset Panda offers
support to help facilitate the
downloading and eventual
deletion of data. After the
contract ends, the platform
typically retains data for up to
three years to allow for a
seamless transition should the
client choose to resume
services. However, users can
request the immediate deletion
of their data at any time. Once
data is deleted—either by the
client or upon request—it is
fully purged from Asset
Panda’s environment and
backups within a 30-day cycle.
End-of-contract process
At the end of an Asset Panda
contract, clients can request to
have their data returned or
deleted. The platform allows
users to export information in
formats such as Excel and
PDF. By default, Asset Panda
may retain data for up to three
years post-termination to
facilitate service resumption,
though clients can request
immediate deletion. Once
deleted, data is typically
purged from backups within 30
days. Additional support can
be provided at extra cost.

API
Yes
What users can and can't do using the API
What users can and can't do
using the API
Asset Panda’s REST API
allows users to
programmatically manage
asset data and automate
workflows. Setup Users cannot
initialize an account via the
API. Setup must begin in the
web application under Settings
> Integrations > API to
generate a Client ID and
Secret. Authentication is then
handled via OAuth 2.0 to
obtain access tokens for subsequent requests. Making
Changes Users can perform
standard CRUD (Create, Read,
Update, Delete) operations:
GET: Retrieve asset details,
locations, or group information.
POST: Create new records,
such as adding a new laptop to
inventory. PUT/PATCH: Modify
existing records, like updating
an asset’s status or assignee.
DELETE: Remove records
from the system. Limitations
Configuration: Users cannot
modify the underlying
database schema; creating
custom fields or changing
account-level configurations
must be done through the web
UI. Rate Limiting: The API is
subject to throttling; excessive
requests may result in
temporary blocks.
Permissions: Actions are
restricted by the specific
permissions assigned to the
user account associated with
the API token. Bulk Actions:
While many actions are
supported, massive data
imports are often more
efficiently handled via the web￾based import tool rather than
individual API calls.

Customisation available
Yes
Description of customisation
Users can customise Asset
Panda to align with their
specific business workflows
and data requirements.
Customisation focuses on
tailoring the platform to replace
manual logs or spreadsheets
with a scalable, automated
system. What can be
customised: Data Fields: Users
can create custom asset fields
(e.g., department, condition,
purchase price, or unique
identifiers like serial numbers).
Asset Categories: Organise
assets into specific groups like
tools, vehicles, or electronic
devices. Workflows & Alerts:
Configure maintenance
schedules, repair tracking, and
automated alerts for
preventative service.
Reporting: Design custom
reports to analyse
depreciation, utilisation, and
audit compliance. Integrations:
Connect with existing software
like ERP or accounting
systems. How users can
customise: Users customise
the system by auditing their
needs and then configuring
settings within the platform.
This involves defining the
structure (fields and
categories), setting up
automated workflows, and
migrating existing data. Who
can customise: Asset Panda
uses role-based permissions,
allowing different job functions
—such as technicians,managers, or accountants—to
interact with the system
differently. While technicians
may update asset statuses,
managers typically have the
authority to approve
purchases, disposals, and
overarching system
configurations.

Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
While specific uptime
guarantees can vary by
contract tier, standard Service
Level Agreement (SLA)
typically targets 99.9%
availability, excluding
scheduled maintenance
windows. If Asset Panda fails
to meet this 99.9% uptime
threshold during a calendar
month, eligible customers may
be entitled to Service Credits.
These credits are usually
calculated as a percentage of
the monthly subscription fee
and are applied toward future
billing cycles. It is important to
note that Asset Panda does
not provide direct cash refunds
for service interruptions. To
receive a credit, users must
typically submit a written
request to the support team
within 30 days of the service
failure, documenting the
impact. These credits serve as
the sole and exclusive remedy
for any failure to meet the
guaranteed availability levels.
This structure is consistent with
industry standards for SaaS
providers, focusing on future
service offsets rather than
immediate financial
reimbursement.
Approach to resilience

Outage reporting
Asset Panda maintains
transparency regarding its
service availability through a
dedicated public status page.
This dashboard provides realtime information on the
operational status of their web
application, mobile app, and
API. Key reporting features
include: Public Dashboard:
The status page offers a visual
history of uptime and detailed
reports on current or past
incidents, scheduled
maintenance windows, and
service degradations across
different regions. Email and
SMS Alerts: Users can
proactively subscribe to
updates directly from the
dashboard. By clicking
"Subscribe to Updates," users
can opt to receive notifications
via email, text message (SMS),
or Slack whenever an incident
is created, updated, or
resolved. Asset Panda
provides a public API. This
allows technical teams to
programmatically ingest status
data into their own internal
monitoring tools or custom
dashboards to track system
health.
