End-of-contract data extraction
When a Meisterplan contract ends, customers must extract their data before access is terminated, as Meisterplan deletes customer data shortly after contract expiration. Users can export all key information using the built-in Export to Excel feature, which allows downloading projects, resources, roles, allocations, milestones, financials, time worked, OBS structures, and capacity data in a clean Excel format. Administrators can choose the scenario, portfolio and date range to ensure complete extraction.

For more advanced or automated exports, customers can use the Reporting API, which provides read-only access to all major Meisterplan data. This allows exporting JSON data into external systems or BI tools such as Excel, Power BI or Tableau.

Together, the Excel export and Reporting API provide full access to project, resource and financial data prior to contract closure, after which the data is deleted by the provider.
End-of-contract process
When the contract ends, the right to use Meisterplan immediately stops and all your data is deleted by the provider within 30 days.

Pricing for Meisterplan is resource-based: you pay per “resource” (e.g. employee scheduled or planned), not per user; users themselves are generally unlimited.

Additional costs beyond the base licence typically arise from optional add-ons or services — e.g. additional resources beyond your package, professional services or consulting, custom integrations, or extras beyond your resource-capacity license.

Thus, when the contract ends you lose access and must export your data before deletion; your ongoing costs depend on how many resources you licensed, and any extra services used may incur additional charges.
Documentation accessibility standard
None or don’t know
How the documentation is accessible
Meisterplan provides onboarding and offboarding instructions and tools via its public Help Center. New users are added through Manage → Users or via “Invite Users” (for bulk invites) or “Add Single User.” You can also link a user to a “resource” to manage project assignments vs. actual-system access.

For larger organisations, Meisterplan supports automated user provisioning (auto-provisioning) through standard identity providers (e.g. Azure AD, Okta, OneLogin), using SCIM/SSO. That lets you keep user accounts in sync automatically.

The documentation for onboarding/offboarding — user creation, invitations, linking resources, and optional auto-provisioning — is clearly published, step-by-step, in the Help Center.

If an organisation’s contract ends (“off-boarding” at the customer level), metadata from publicly available service-definition documentation notes that customers get the ability to export their data (e.g. Excel export) before their access ends.

In summary: onboarding and offboarding processes for users are well documented and accessible to administrators via the Help Center; bulk invites or auto-provisioning simplify onboarding; and data export upon contract termination covers offboarding at the organisational level.

Accessibility testing
Publicly available information does not indicate that Meisterplan has conducted formal interface testing with users of assistive technology. Meisterplan positions itself as a browser-based project portfolio and resource management tool with an emphasis on usability, but its website, documentation, and trust-center materials provide no accessibility statement, no WCAG-related commitments, and no mention of screen-reader, magnifier, or voice-control compatibility. While the product documentation includes references to keyboard shortcuts, which suggests at least some consideration for keyboard-only navigation, this alone does not demonstrate systematic accessibility testing or engagement with disabled users.

There is also no evidence of published audit reports, third-party accessibility evaluations, or release notes describing improvements based on assistive-technology user feedback. This contrasts with established best practices in accessible software design, which typically include testing with real users of technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, zoom tools, or switch devices.

Because Meisterplan has not publicly documented such testing, organizations with accessibility requirements should assume that comprehensive user-based accessibility evaluation has not been completed. Anyone needing assurance of compatibility with assistive technologies should plan to conduct their own testing or directly request clarification from the vendor, as current public information does not confirm meaningful accessibility user research or validation.
API
Yes
What users can and can't do using the API
The Meisterplan APIs provide two main capabilities: setting up and modifying data through the REST API, and exporting data through the read-only Reporting API.

Setup through the API:
Users can generate an API token from their Meisterplan user profile (with the appropriate rights) and use it to authenticate REST API calls. Using the REST API, organizations can programmatically import or update core data needed to initialise the system—such as resources, roles, calendars, OBS structures, projects, allocations, and financial data. This allows automated setup or synchronization with HR, PM, or finance systems.

Making changes through the API:
The REST API supports creating, updating, and deleting many Meisterplan entities including projects, milestones, allocations, resources, roles, financials, and actuals. It can also attach projects to programs, adjust capacity or cost data, and update portfolios. Webhooks can be used to react to changes, and the Task API can sync external task systems without overwriting Meisterplan’s plans.

Limitations:
The Reporting API is strictly read-only. Some items (e.g., team membership) cannot be modified via the REST API. API use requires appropriate permissions, and access to some fields or entities depends on the Meisterplan edition. The API cannot configure everything available in the UI.
API documentation
Yes
API documentation formats
  • Open API (also known as Swagger)
  • PDF
API sandbox or test environment
Yes
Customisation available
Yes
Description of customisation
Customisable user interface and partially customisable which data can be entered by the customer.

Meisterplan allows extensive customisation so organisations can tailor the system to their structure and processes.

What can be customised:
Users can define custom project fields, configure project-detail layouts, and create custom views in lists, boards and the Portfolio Designer. Organisational structures such as roles, teams, OBS elements and portfolios can be customised, along with user-group permissions, navigation options and global settings such as currency and financial categories.

How users customise:
Most customisation is done through the Manage area in the Meisterplan interface. Administrators can add or edit custom fields, rearrange project-detail sections, build shared custom views, configure portfolios and filters, and set global defaults. They can also define user groups and assign the actions and data each group can access. These changes do not require coding or API use.

Who can customise:
Only users with the appropriate administrative permissions can make structural changes. This typically includes rights such as “System Configuration,” “Manage User Groups,” “Manage Custom Fields,” or “Access Financial Data.” Regular users may view or use shared custom views but cannot change system-level configuration.

Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
"a)The Supplier shall make the Meisterplan Application available during the following System Runtime, with the exception of the agreed scheduled outage periods pursuant to Clause (2) below.
The “System Runtime” shall be 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
b) The parties agree to the periods of available use. During this time, the longest uninterrupted downtime will not exceed 4 hours.
All times outside the Primary Processing Time are considered as Secondary Processing Time during which availability is not ensured. Primary Processing Time excludes Saturdays, Sundays, January 1 and December 25.
c) The Application will be deemed to be available during periods of time in which
The Application can't be accessed (or other faults exist) due to problems with the local IT system of the Customer, or in a fault in the Customer’s connection to the Server, or
other events occur, which are not caused by the Supplier or its agents, e.g., due to force majeure, abuse or operator error.
(2) Supplier may schedule outage periods in order to service and maintain the Application and/or Server, and other tasks. The Supplier will announce scheduled outages to the Customer no less than 7 days in advance at https://status.meisterplan.com.
Approach to resilience
Meisterplan is designed for high resilience, aligning with the UK government’s “Asset protection and resilience” principles. The service is hosted on cloud infrastructure with data stored redundantly across multiple isolated servers within a chosen region (US or EU), ensuring that hardware or rack failures do not cause data loss. Networks are protected with firewalls, intrusion-detection systems, and DDoS mitigation. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES‑256).

Operational resilience is supported through daily backups stored separately to enable recovery, ISO certifications (ISO 27001, ISO 27018), regular external audits, and penetration testing. Access to production systems is limited to authorised personnel, logged, and reviewed regularly. Users can monitor service health via a public status page, and maintenance windows are communicated in advance.

Administrators are guided in onboarding, permissions, and data management to reduce the risk of accidental data loss. Meisterplan’s Trust Center provides transparency on security and resilience policies, while detailed operational documents, penetration test results, and disaster-recovery procedures are available on request.

This combination of redundant infrastructure, encryption, controlled access, backup procedures, and certified operational practices ensures that Meisterplan maintains service continuity and protects customer data even under adverse conditions.
Outage reporting
Public dashboard: Yes. Meisterplan publishes service status (uptime, availability of web app, API, authentication/SAML, integrations, etc.) on a public status page at status.meisterplan.com. Users can view current operational status at any time.

Subscription / automated alerts: There is a facility to subscribe to automated status updates from the status page — so users can receive alerts if there is a major incident.

API for outage data: There is no public documentation indicating that Meisterplan provides a dedicated “outage‑reporting API.” The publicly described status‑reporting mechanism is limited to the status page and subscription alerts.

Email alerts: Meisterplan’s notification system does support email alerts — but only for in‑application events (project changes, comments, resource updates etc.), not for infrastructure outages.

In short: outages are communicated via a public status dashboard and optional subscription‑based alerts. There is no publicly available API for outage data, and no explicit email alert mechanism for outages.
