Operational security

Configuration and change management standard
Supplier-defined controls
Configuration and change management approach
Changes to Oscar are managed using a change control process.

All code is versioned using GitLab, developers code in branches and changes are subjected to peer reviews before they are managed using merge requests.

Automated testing and deployment using a CI/CD process ensures required standards are met before release.

In addition, the CI/CD process runs security static analysis to check for vulnerabilities and security issues.

Oscar application configuration and infrastructure is managed using Terraform (infrastructure as code); changes are always tested in a staging system prior to release.
Vulnerability management type
Supplier-defined controls
Vulnerability management approach
Oscar code is assessed for vulnerabilities using GitLab Static Application Security Testing (SAST) as part of the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment process.
This checks the code for known vulnerabilities and bad security practice. Results are surfaced at the merge request stage to prevent vulnerabilities being introduced.
Dependencies are also scanned using an automated tool, checking against a regularly updated vulnerability database. These checks are also automated in the project’s CI/CD jobs at the "test" stage.
Any potential vulnerabilities found are surfaced via a report, then triaged and addressed as part of our release management process.
Protective monitoring type
Supplier-defined controls
Protective monitoring approach
Demarq use Amazon Guard Duty threat detection service alongside the NCSC Early Warning Service. We have a range of additional ISCM processes in place to provide ongoing awareness of information security, vulnerabilities and threats inc. M365 Defender, 46 weekly system checks, compromised user checks, quarantine checks and Threat and Vulnerability Management dashboards.
Incidents are categorised and responded to based on the processes outlined in the Demarq Security Incident Plan.
Response times are based on the nature of the incident and the associated requirements/recommendations.
Incident management type
Supplier-defined controls
Incident management approach
Our incident management process is detailed within our Information Security Policy and Incident Security Plan.

Incidents are reported to the Demarq ISO via iso@demarq.com or directly.

Incidents are detected/reported via process detailed within the Policy and are managed by an identified team that follow a detailed process within the Incident Security Plan.

Users affected by an incident are notified within the required timeframes, the key stakeholder is identified at contract stage.
