End-of-contract data extraction
Users/Organisations have two main ways of extracting their data at end of contract. They can use the export feature in the system and export their data out of the eTapestry system or they can pay a fee to the Services team to have them run an export for them.
End-of-contract process
The price of the contract includes access to the eTapestry software for the specified time period of the contract. Additional contract items include access to support, training or additional contracted services.

To use eTapestry on your smart phone or tablet, access the mobile friendly version. After you log in to eTapestry, click the eTapestry Mobile link in the bottom left corner.

What users can and can't do using the API
The eTapestry Application Programming Interface (API) enables you to integrate data with your eTapestry database. The API can serve to push data to or pull data from eTapestry, to expand existing functionality to better fit your needs, and to automate data entry.

The API is designed for developers with knowledge of web services and SOAP and is offered free of charge to organizations and third-party development groups.

The interface allows you to perform a variety of functions.

- Create or modify accounts, journal notes, contacts, gifts, pledges, and payments.
- Charge credit cards, debit cards or bank accounts when you create gifts and payments.
- Avoid duplicates by matching name and account information.
- Query and return data lists.

Although the eTapestry API is free to use, it isn't automatically activated. For security reasons, eTapestry disables API access until an organization enables this feature (with the exception of API sandbox databases).

eTapestry creates a backup of your database nightly. If you want a copy of your database, you can manually create a backup file. Planned maintenance notices are posted 3 days in advance of the work; When there is active maintenance on the page, this will auto-refresh every 60 seconds; The page will not refresh on its own when maintenance is not occurring; Any active maintenance will always appear at the top of the page and will move to the historical section of the page once completed; This page will provide up to 5 days of historical information for reference.

Configuration and change management approach
Blackbaud’s change model follows ITIL protocols and methodologies, reinforcing best practices while mitigating risks of introducing new technology services. All changes are brought forward using a Request For Change (RFC) process to a Change Advisory Board (CAB) that reviews the submitted request to ensure proper testing, documentation, implementation, rollback, and communication plans are in place before approving any changes. All approved changes with anticipated service impact are communicated to ensure customers have visibility into expected functionality or service unavailability.

Vulnerability management approach
Blackbaud has a comprehensive vulnerability management program. All our applications and our public-facing network go through annual third-party penetration testing. We also perform our own internal and external vulnerability scans on a quarterly basis, as well as static code scans against our software during key moments in the development lifecycle. Any issues found are submitted for remediation based on industry recommendations. Blackbaud uses the COBIT framework.
