- Planning service
- Yes
- How the planning service works
- Our planning process is designed to align with your business objectives and cloud strategy. We start by understanding your current cloud infrastructure and expenditure patterns. This initial assessment is crucial for setting the scope and goals for the optimisation project. We use the AWS and Azure Well-Architected Frameworks to establish a benchmark for excellence, focusing on the cost optimisation pillar to ensure your cloud resources are efficiently utilised. Our bespoke scripts then perform a detailed analysis of your environment, identifying dormant resources and over utilised instances that could be optimised for better cost efficiency. We engage with your team to prioritise actions based on potential savings and business impact, planning a series of iterative reviews and adjustments to maintain optimal performance and cost. This ongoing cycle ensures that as your cloud usage evolves, your spending remains aligned with industry best practices and your organisational needs.

- How the setup or migration service works
- While traditional setup and migration may not be a central element of a FinOps service, our initial setup involves integrating our tools and methodologies with your existing cloud infrastructure. This integration allows for seamless analysis and monitoring of your resource usage and expenditure. We configure our bespoke scripts to tailor the analysis specifically to your cloud environment, ensuring that the appropriate configuration points are captured and analysed. We provide guidelines on implementing changes and adopting new practices that can lead to sustained cost reduction and enhanced cloud performance.

- How the quality assurance and performance testing works
-
Quality assurance in cloud cost optimisation involves verifying that all financial governance and cost management practices are up to standard and meet your business requirements. Our performance testing focuses on the effectiveness of the implemented optimisation strategies, ensuring they deliver the expected cost savings without compromising service delivery or performance. Where appropriate and feasible, we conduct simulations to test the resilience of your cloud setup under different financial scenarios, providing a clear picture of how changes will affect both costs and operations. This approach helps in identifying any potential issues early, ensuring that adjustments can be made efficiently to optimise spending continuously.
While security testing traditionally focuses on vulnerability and risk, in the context of FinOps, we ensure that all cost optimisation practices adhere to the highest security standards to protect sensitive financial data and operational integrity.

Service scope
- Service constraints
- Our Cloud Cost Optimisation service focuses strictly on financial optimisation within the parameters of the existing cloud infrastructure. The scope is limited to areas where actual cost savings can be directly influenced through resource management and operational adjustments. We do not cover aspects unrelated to direct cloud costs, such as offline data management or non-cloud IT expenditures. The effectiveness of our recommendations relies heavily on the client’s willingness to implement suggested changes and to provide accurate and comprehensive access to their cloud usage data.

Fighting climate change
Our team work extensively from home thus reducing the environmental impact of commuting.
All our solutions are cloud based therefore enabling the cloud providers to concentrate on effective power, heating and cooling at a scale that we could not.
We have extended the refresh period of our computing equipment to reduce landfill and waste.Covid-19 recovery
