Our workshops create a clearer picture of your business and business vision. They provide an environment where we can collaboratively gather existing knowledge and generate new ideas together. Our three day on-site workshops create consensus on plans and priorities.
We spend 3 days on-site with key stakeholders and engage in activities designed to explore and identify the best possible approach to building the application. We spend a further 2 days remotely creating and refining the design, architecture plan, work plan and high-fidelity prototype to ensure we know exactly what will be built in the development phase. - Planning service works with specific services

Fighting climate change
While still early in our Sustainability journey, we embrace our responsibilities in addressing the environmental impact we have as a business. This includes measuring and tracking our emissions to inform our eventual setting of targets, and our intent to keep ourselves accountable against these targets by signing up to the Science Based Target Initiative.
As a remote-first company based in 26 global locations, the measurement and tracking of our environmental footprint is challenging. However, our headquarters in Tramore are powered 100% by renewable energy sources, and we have committed to several initiatives which aim to reduce or offset our operations, including our commitment to planting trees via our partnership with Treedom.
Since Treedom’s founding in 2010 in Florence, more than 3.000.000 trees have been planted in Africa, South America and Italy. (https://www.treedom.net/en/about-us). Treedom directly finances agroforestry projects throughout the territory. The philosophy is to realise sustainable ecosystems and allow thousands of farmers to support the initial costs of planting new trees, ensuring food autonomy and income opportunities over time, whilst helping to reduce our carbon footprint and giving back to the planet.
This commitment will see us planting and gifting a minimum of 10,000 trees through to the year 2025 across both of our forests. In doing so, we will be supporting around 588 farmers and their families, and absorbing approximately 750 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere. Our promise not only to the planet but to future generations.
In parallel to our Treedom partnership, we intend to evaluate our supplier network with an environmental lens and meanwhile encourage our staff to consider the following actions:
1. Identify Emission Sources
2. Home Office Energy Consumption
3. Digital Resource Usage
4. Virtual Meetings
5. Travel Emissions (if applicable)
6. EducationCovid-19 recovery
Nearform developed the Covid-19 Contact Tracing App for a number of countries and US states, including Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Gibraltar, Jersey, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Nearform and the Irish Government donated Covid Green - the open source code behind the Covid Tracker app - free of charge to the Linux Foundation Public Health for use by all Governments to help the fight against Covid-19. Nearform is honoured and proud of the work we've undertaken in partnership with multiple Governments and jurisdictions in responding to the pandemic. We continue to collaborate with other public health authorities around the world via Linux Foundation Public Health and learn from their experiences. The Linux Foundation Public Health (LFPH) uses open source software to help public health authorities combat Covid-19 and future epidemics. The second project is Covid Shield, which is being deployed in Canada.Tackling economic inequality
Via our charitable giving programme (see more below), we have partnered with an exclusively volunteer-led charitable organisation called E-ducare, whose mission is to provide education to vulnerable children. Their goal is to break the cycle of poverty by empowering vulnerable children and, in doing so, providing long-term growth in their local communities. Following a financial contribution in early 2022, which served to fund a learning centre in Vietnam, our partnership with E-ducare has expanded. We now support the delivery of coding lessons to vulnerable children in several countries including Vietnam and Tanzania, via laptops we have either donated directly or for which we have facilitated the donation. The ever-evolving partnership has seen Nearformers volunteer their time to deliver coding lessons, with the next coding bootcamp open to children in more countries who will get an accredited certificate at the end of the programme to support their learning journey. Our previously mentioned partnership with Treedom also has a social impact component to it, as all trees are planted directly by local farmers and bring environmental, social and financial benefits to their communities. Our aforementioned 3-year commitment will therefore support around 588 farmers and their families, providing them with a source of food and financial support as they sell what they grow.Equal opportunity
As a global organisation, Nearform has an active Diversity and Inclusion programme. Whilst not yet shared publicly, the programme involves engaging and educating employees on these topics via collaborative working groups, formal online training modules, informal ‘Lunch & Learn’ sessions, and employee-led communities, to name a few, alongside specialist partners such as DEI experts to inform our work. By fostering an inclusive workplace culture, we encourage open dialogue, respect for differing viewpoints, and an atmosphere where every individual feels valued, heard, and empowered to contribute their best. We believe that a diverse and inclusive environment not only drives innovation and creativity but also cultivates a sense of belonging among our team members. Recent and ongoing initiatives include, but are not limited to: - Organising and delivering employee learning modules focused on diversity and inclusion (e.g. Unconscious Bias, Inclusive Hiring, etc.) with the guidance of DEI experts Paradigm - Collecting employee demographic data for reporting purposes and to ensure fair practices across the business (e.g. recruitment, career opportunities and advancement, etc.) - Developing a public Diversity Statement and Policy which summarises our stance on and commitment to DEI - Nurturing and expanding our partnership with E-ducare, a charity organisation 100% led by volunteers whose mission is to provide education to vulnerable children (see more under ‘Social Impact’ below) - Founding a Nearform Women’s Guild with the mission to help elevate the experience of women at Nearform, identify new opportunities to attract and retain women at all levels, as well as provide career growth and leadership development - Developing an engagement calendar to celebrate our unique employee population - Standardised processes to ensure fair and ethical recruitment and promotion practicesWellbeing
Nearform prioritises the well-being and growth of our employees. Our health and wellness programs are designed to ensure that our team members have access to the resources they need to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We offer a range of initiatives, including monthly health & wellbeing themes to engage and educate colleagues, remote work, remote office stipend, dedicated leave policies, an array of benefits including medical, and an advice line to support our employees in achieving a harmonious equilibrium between their professional and personal lives. Additionally, our employee assistance programs provide counselling and support services for any personal or professional challenges our team members may encounter. We are committed to fostering professional development and growth opportunities for our employees. NearForm invests in ongoing training and education by offering a learning stipend, training courses through our learning platform Leapsome, providing technical e-learning classes with Pluralsight, and internal instructor-led courses to enable our employees to stay at the forefront of their fields. We encourage career growth through our buddy system and provide access to relevant conferences and workshops driving innovation and excellence. We take employee satisfaction and well-being seriously and regularly conduct surveys to gauge their experiences and concerns. The results of these surveys consistently demonstrate high levels of employee satisfaction and well-being, reflecting our commitment to creating a positive and supportive work environment. We use these insights to continuously improve our programs and initiatives, ensuring that Nearform remains a great place to work and grow professionally. Most recently our pulse survey results are as follows, exceeding our goal: Q1 2023 Company Score 8.16/10 Q2 2023 Company Score 8.06/10
