How the training service works
At an early stage, Encordia will engage with the client project team in order to determine if any training will be required later in the project. The Training Strategy is used to gain agreement from the client over what training is required and how it will be delivered. It is used where these have not already been covered in sufficient detail in the requirements. The scope of training can cover training for users, system administrators and technical support staff (usually when client technical staff are unfamiliar with the Cloud technologies being provided). It can be provided directly by the Encordia team or on the basis of train-the-trainer (usual for user training with a large user population). On larger projects a formal Training Needs Analysis (TNA) stage can be conducted. This consists of:
• Issuing questionnaires to the future trainees to understand existing skills and needs
• Analysis of the results
• Leading to decisions on most appropriate training methods

Alternatively, a more concise TNA stage can be conducted by meeting with client representatives and using their understanding of the likely skills of trainees to propose the training methods.

Encordia can provide services to help you define a migration strategy. Each migration exercise for both software and data is different, making it imperative that each project with migration requirements prepares a migration strategy and plan. Encordia will engage with the client to gain an understanding about the scope of what is to be migrated, relative importance and criticality of the functionality and data. Considerations to be taken into account during the process:
 • High-level phasing and sequence of, new software, data migration, and testing
 • Timing of the above steps with the business cycles: e.g., closed periods and periods of high business activity
 • Testing approach must involve client staff wherever possible as this can form part of the acceptance criteria and helps client staff training and buy-in
 • Migration strategy will be formally agreed with the client

Sustainable Transportation: Company vehicles provided by Encordia are electric vehicles only and we encourage the use of low-emission vehicles for all travel. We support the government’s Cycle to Work scheme and provide company pool bicycles where appropriate. Waste Management: We minimise waste generation by adopting sustainable procurement practices, reducing paper use to an absolute minimum and promoting digitalisation and electronic communication. Tackling economic inequality

Creating opportunities for those within a deprived area, or those who face barriers to employment: Our coding bootcamp scholarships focus on supporting individuals who are from socio-economic or diverse backgrounds into a career in software development and technology. The coding bootcamps are in Norwich, Cambridge, Hull and Liverpool and are through a partner company, Tech Educators Ltd. Tech Educators actively work with DWP and local councils to secure those from deprived areas who are interested in a career in software development and technology to achieve a future in software development.

Creating new skills in a high growth industry with mass skills shortages: Encordia is committed to the Tech Educators model of taking individuals from a position of being ready to work building the necessary tech skills ready to work in industry, to a place of ready to contribute. This means having the skills required to deliver outcomes and impact within the organisation where they work. For Encordia, this means we have a close relationship with recent graduates of the coding and software development bootcamps. Interviewing graduates that will be a good fit culturally and the work we are delivering in line with the contract, and other projects we undertake. In this ready to work, ready to contribute model, we support new entrants to the industry with a job receiving above the national living wage, and support with training, learning and adoption of new skills relevant to have an impact in the industry.
