Whzan enables the remote monitoring of vulnerable individuals which directly reduces carbon emissions through the reduced GP visits, ambulances and carer home visits.
Reports consistently identify reductions in hospital admissions, A&E attendances and GP visits by up to 70%. The NEAHSN published a report showing the use of Whzan in 8 care homes saved £756,000 in admissions, A&E attendances and ambulance services over just one year. NHS Essex also report NHS service savings of approximately £1m per month through use of Whzan in 250 care homes. - Covid-19 recovery

Covid-19 recovery
The impact of the pandemic has been significant to us. We have increased capacity for remote monitoring, specifically in care homes and virtual wards, such as BP@Home and Oximetry@Home. The number of care homes using our Blue Boxes increased from 500 to 2,000 within 12 months and is currently rising to 3,000. Our patient numbers have risen from 15,000 to over 70,000 and continue to rise. To accommodate the demand, we increased our numbers in all areas of the company, from manufacturing to software development and support.
Over many years and from NHS reports we have proven the Whzan system improves quality of life and raises patient safety. Our systems and their features are used to identify early signs of deterioration and illness as well as giving the population the confidence they need to manage their own health. In turn, this has enabled patients to access healthcare support much earlier leading to faster recovery and less demand on NHS services.
We have a comprehensive COVID-19 feature on WhzApp, our free to use mobile app, to help patients manage and monitor their condition.
Our portable telehealth kit, the Blue Box, is used for the detection and recovery of COVID-19 with the fingertip pulse oximeter and assessments monitoring their health.
Guardian, our home monitoring kit, is used during recovery to monitor behaviour. For example, it will show trends to carers, friends and family if they are starting to eat and drink less which is a sign of deterioration. It will also show if they are spending less time in the bedroom, which would show their improving health as they are starting to be up and about.
Authorised clinicians can review all results in real time with no need for face-to-face visits. - Tackling economic inequality

Tackling economic inequality
The need to make remote monitoring accessible to all groups and improve equality of health requires the Whzan system to be designed for simplicity, so it can be used by people with very little or no clinical training at all.
We ensure that all aspects of Whzan are accessible for all types of users. The online dashboard is where all of our help guides are available, and every user has access to them. The Whzan dashboard is simple and intuitive to navigate and has an accessibility theme option. Our system is suitable for those with a reading age of 7.
Whzan is simple to use, reducing barriers to monitor health and improve equality of access. We are able to track our Social Value monthly from monitoring the increasing patient population being given access to the system and the increasing number of clinicians who are using it to support care for patients. We have feedback from GPs, clinicians and patients confirming care is being delivered in a better and more effective way through Whzan. - Equal opportunity

Whzan is available to all, there are no limitations for who can utilise it. No background in technology is required and we provide full training to all. - Wellbeing

Wellbeing
As creators of Whzan Digital Health, we have been supporting innovation within health and social care since 2010 - delivering applications which lower risk and raise safety. Feedback from clients indicate that recipients of the service benefit from significant health improvements evidenced in multiple reports and NHS made videos showing patients using Whzan. The reports contain significant detail of substantial reduced service demand in emergency, primary and secondary care and thus cost savings. Furthermore, reports contain service user case studies, such as early identification of SEPSIS, UTI, Covid 19 and other health deterioration for vulnerable people. Whzan also enables patients to live in their own homes for longer, deferring the need for residential care.
