Scaling

Independence of resources
Each user has dedicated install and performance is tied to the power of the machine in use. It cannot take into account the load on the data systems being used in the processing.Customer can purchase additional licenses as the user base grows.
The server can be scaled horizontally to run multiple processes in parallel with dedicated resources.

For Cloud solution: The system provides elastic growth for each user and process as part of the service so demand on load does not affect other users. It cannot take into account the load on the data systems being used in the processing.

Cloud:
Utilising Private Data Handling or Storage the solution leaves the data in your network, it streams a small subset of data to the browser for designing workflows but does not cache locally in the browser.
Any communication between the data plane and the control plane created in the Private Data Storage or handling architectures is secure and encrypted with end users view streamed not transmitted.Data remains entirely in your control and access.

The desktop/server solution is installed within your network with all your transit controls in place between the user desktop and the data sources.

Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
A System availabilty factor of 99.5% is monitored and worked towards. To offer the Service levels required for a business critical applicaton. Please refer to the Alteryx SLA documentation with reference to service credits.
Approach to resilience
The Cloud platform leverages the resiliency options provided by each of the cloud providers to ensure resiliency and availability . Further information can be obtained on request

Server can be deploted in HA/DR architectures with additional licenses.
Outage reporting
For Cloud:
System outages are reported to the system administrators via email or via the status portal at
https://status.alteryxcloud.com/

Server: As the deployment resides in your infrastructure then outages will follow your system processes.

Operational security

Configuration and change management standard
Supplier-defined controls
Configuration and change management approach
Alteryx follows industry-standard security practices to identify and resolve vulnerabilities both before and after product release to provide reliable and secure products. Vulnerabilities go through evaluation, rating, and prioritization. Updates are released to address vulnerabilities in supported versions, with cumulative fixes incorporated in major and minor releases.
Vulnerability management type
Supplier-defined controls
Vulnerability management approach
Alteryx has a comprehensive vulnerability management program in line with guidance from NIST and other industry standards, Alteryx vulnerability program that manages any reported or suspected vulnerability across its lifecycle, with defined processes that cover identification, assessment, prioritization, remediation, verification, and reporting.
Protective monitoring type
Supplier-defined controls
Protective monitoring approach
Alteryx leverages modern threat detection and prevention systems to safeguard and monitor against malicious exploitation, unauthorized disclosure, modification, and destruction.

These systems are actively monitored, with potential problems or violations documented and escalated to the appropriate teams to ensure prompt remedial action.
Incident management type
Supplier-defined controls
Incident management approach
The Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan (CIRP) establishes the actions and procedures that
help the Security Operation Center (SOC) team prepare for and respond to security incidents.

The plan includes how to initiate responsive action, remediate adverse consequences, document lessons learned; and continuously improve the incident response processes. The CIRP is regularly tested using a combination
of planned reviews and live simulations along with periodic training.
