For data storage Winaim uses Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) that provides block level storage volumes for use with Winaim EC2 instances. EBS volumes are highly available and reliable storage volumes. EBS volumes that are attached to an EC2 instance are exposed as storage volumes that persist independently from the life of the instance. Winaim primarily runs its services from AWS region eu-west 1. Winaim uses EBS because of its high performance characteristics as Winaim requires that data must be quickly accessible and also requires long-term persistence. Winaim uses EBS volumes as the primary storage for its file systems, databases and any use cases that require fine granular updates and access to raw, unformatted, block-level storage. Winaim use EBS because it is well suited to both database-style applications that rely on random reads and writes, and to throughput-intensive uses that perform long, continuous reads and writes.
