Quality assurance and performance testing

Quality assurance and performance testing service
Yes
How the quality assurance and performance testing works
PretaGov applies quality procedures, assurance and performance to all its Software as a Service products, professional services, support, maintenance and managed cloud hosting. This is the process of enforcing quality control standards and working to improve the processes that are used in producing the SaaS, customised web solution and its components, infrastructure and content.

Below are the processes:
1/ Design and develop with quality. This involves understanding the client needs, architecting information for the end user, clarifying requirements, development with interactions to identify bugs as soon as possible.
2/ Meet standards. All our solutions meet UK Government legal, GDS and security standards such as
● Security Policy Framework, Cabinet Office
● Disability Discrimination Act (WCAG L2 AA)
● Data Protection Act
● Gov.UK design principles
● Cloud Security Principles, CESG -
3/ Test cases. This involves testing the solution ‐as‐a‐whole because HTML and HTTP must follow certain general protocols, standards, and rules of syntax.
4/ Develop and implement test plan. This is a high level summary of functionality, elements, region and how frequently they are to be tested. All projects involve a comprehensive test plan covering full testing including unit, integration, systems, cross browser, performance and end user testing.

Equal opportunity

PretaGov has a a ‘Equal Opportunity’ policy which is made available to all staff on their induction with the company. Our hiring practices do not discriminate against any of the nine protected characteristics, including age, gender, race, and disability. As we are a remote working company, our employment and onboarding interviews are fully accessible—with candidates asked to specify any accessibility requirements they may need.

We are committed to supporting disabled employees with any reasonable adjustments they require, including:
-Assistive technology,
-Non-medical assistive support, such as ergonomic chairs, desks, and mice & keyboards,
-Flexible working hours in order to accommodate their needs within the scope of our operations.

Requests for reasonable adjustments are voluntary and confidential, and we will work closely with any employee who requests them to provide the support and accommodation necessary to enable them to fulfil their role.

PretaGov has a multicultural workforce, with employees from a range of races, religions, and other protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010. 25% of our currently employed staff is female, such as our Co-Founder and CEO, Virginia Choy.

PretaGov support all staff to undertake upskilling training to ensure that their technological expertise is up to date at all times. We encourage and facilitate staff attendance to conferences relevant to our work. This would include support for accessibility requirements, travel, and any necessary equipment therein.

With our turnover falling below the £36 million threshold, the Modern Slavery Act (2015) does not apply to PretaGov. We have, however, established an Anti-Slavery Policy which is upheld at all times, and published on our website. By staying in close contact with all staff, including our subcontractors, senior board members aim to be at all times actively aware of any potential risk of Modern Slavery.

Wellbeing

The wellbeing of PretaGov staff is at the forefront of our company ethos. In line with MAC 7.1 of the Social Value Model, senior staff ensure regularly fortnightly meetings with our team to incite feedback, investigate grievances, and overall check their mental and physical wellness. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, our team would organise regular company lunches, dinners, and other social events in order to promote positive morale and colleague relationships. Though we have changed the way we work, our team meets online through the mediums of Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, to ensure the wellbeing of our staff, PretaGov established a ‘Work From Home’ policy which came as a response both to government legislation, as well as internal concern for our workforce’s health. In addition to this, we have adopted flexible working hours for all staff in order to provide a better work/life balance. Senior staff are open to negotiations in terms of adjusted work schedules in order to allow our team quality time with their families, improved personal schedules, and to attend mental/physical health check-ups.

In the past, PretaGov has facilitated staff attendance to business-relevant conferences across the world. As a part of the Open-Source Community making use of Plone CMS, PretaGov are involved in community integration through involvement with other Plone contributors. Networking with the wider Plone community helps our staff to collaborate in the codesign and delivery of our services, as well as getting to know other individuals who share the same passion for software development.
