- End-of-contract data extraction
-
At the end of the contract, Peoplesafe supports customers to securely extract their data in line with contractual and data protection requirements. Authorised customer administrators can request data exports covering agreed datasets such as user records, device information, activity logs, and historical reports. Data is typically provided in commonly used, open formats to ensure it can be accessed, reviewed, and reused without reliance on Peoplesafe systems.
Where required, Peoplesafe works directly with customers to scope the data extraction, confirm formats, and agree secure transfer methods. This may include support for larger or more complex datasets to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Once data extraction has been completed and confirmed, Peoplesafe follows defined data retention and deletion processes in line with GDPR and contractual obligations. This ensures customer data is handled securely throughout the end-of-contract process, providing transparency, control, and assurance over how information is extracted, transferred, and ultimately removed from the platform. - End-of-contract process
- The contract price includes standard off-boarding support, deactivation, and data exports. Additional costs may apply only where customers request bespoke data extracts, non-standard formats, or extended support beyond the agreed contract scope. - Peoplesafe’s service is designed to operate on both mobile devices and desktop environments. The mobile service, available on iOS and Android, is built for frontline and lone workers, providing real-time safety features such as SOS alarms, timed check-ins, GPS location sharing, and automatic alerts. It is optimised for ease of use in high-risk or time-critical situations while users are on the move. The desktop service is a secure, web-based platform for managers and administrators, supporting user and device management, reporting, dashboards, and audit oversight. Both services are fully integrated, with real-time data shared across platforms.

- Peoplesafe designs its interfaces in line with recognised accessibility standards and inclusive design principles. User interfaces for mobile apps, safety devices, and the web-based management platform are tested internally and through customer feedback to ensure usability for users with differing needs. This includes consideration of screen readers, adjustable text sizes, high-contrast displays, and clear visual and audio cues. Physical safety devices are designed with tactile buttons, audible alerts, and simple interactions to support users with visual or dexterity impairments. Accessibility is reviewed as part of ongoing product development, with improvements informed by real-world user feedback and operational use.
- API
- Yes
- What users can and can't do using the API
-
Peoplesafe provides an API to support integration with customer systems and enable efficient administration through controlled automation. The API is designed for organisational use and complements the core Peoplesafe platform, helping customers align the service with their existing processes and systems.
Through the API, customers can set up and manage key elements of the service, including creating, updating, and deactivating users, assigning users to teams or roles, and synchronising user data from HR or identity management systems. This supports accurate records, reduces manual administration, and enables scalable onboarding. The API can also support identity and authentication workflows, including integration with Single Sign-On (SSO) where required.
Customers can make ongoing changes via the API, such as updating user details or organisational structures as teams evolve. All changes are reflected in the Peoplesafe management platform, ensuring consistency and strong governance.
To protect safety-critical operations, certain functions are intentionally managed within the secure Peoplesafe platform.
Peoplesafe’s in-house development team works closely with customers to understand evolving API requirements and actively explores enhancements and new integrations where they add value, ensuring the API continues to develop in line with customer needs. - API documentation

- Description of customisation
-
Buyers can customise Peoplesafe’s service to align with their operational needs, risk profiles, and organisational structures. Customisation includes user roles and permissions, team structures, escalation processes, reporting views, and alert configurations. Buyers can also tailor how safety features are applied to different user groups, ensuring the service reflects varying risk levels and working patterns.
Customisation is carried out through Peoplesafe’s secure, web-based management platform and, where appropriate, via API integrations. Authorised administrators can configure settings, assign users to teams, manage devices or apps, and define reporting and governance preferences without requiring technical expertise.
Customisation is role-based. Designated customer administrators are responsible for configuring and managing the service, supported by Peoplesafe’s implementation and account management teams. End users have access only to relevant safety functions on mobile apps or devices, ensuring simplicity, consistency, and safe operation while maintaining organisational control and governance.
Scaling
- Independence of resources
-
Peoplesafe ensures independence of resources through a scalable, cloud-based architecture designed to protect performance for all customers. The service is hosted on Microsoft Azure and uses isolated, multi-tenant environments with strict logical separation between customers. Capacity is actively monitored and automatically scaled to meet demand, ensuring that increased usage by one organisation does not impact others.
Access controls, role-based permissions, and data segregation prevent cross-customer interference at both system and data levels. Performance, availability, and usage are continuously monitored, with proactive capacity management and resilience measures in place.

Availability and resilience
- Guaranteed availability
-
Peoplesafe provides a highly available, resilient service designed to support safety-critical use cases. The platform is hosted on Microsoft Azure and benefits from geographically resilient infrastructure, built-in redundancy, and continuous monitoring to maximise uptime and reliability.
Service availability is typically delivered at 99.8%–99.9%, measured on a monthly basis and excluding planned maintenance, which is communicated in advance wherever possible. Availability covers access to the Peoplesafe management platform, mobile applications, and supporting services required for normal operation.
Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, availability targets and service levels are defined within each customer contract, allowing SLAs to align with the customer’s specific operational and risk requirements. Performance and availability are continuously monitored, with proactive incident management and escalation processes in place to minimise disruption.
Where agreed SLA levels are not met, remedies are applied in line with the individual contract terms, ensuring transparency, fairness, and alignment with customer expectations. This approach ensures flexibility while maintaining strong, measurable service assurance. - Approach to resilience
-
Peoplesafe’s service is designed for resilience and continuity, reflecting its use in safety-critical environments. The platform is hosted on Microsoft Azure and benefits from enterprise-grade infrastructure, built-in redundancy, and automated recovery capabilities.
The service is deployed across geographically diverse Azure data centres, ensuring that no single point of failure can impact availability. Data is encrypted and replicated across multiple locations, supporting rapid recovery in the event of infrastructure or regional disruption. Azure’s resilient networking, power, and physical security controls further protect service availability.
Peoplesafe continuously monitors system performance, capacity, and availability, with automated alerts and proactive incident management in place. Regular resilience testing, backup verification, and disaster recovery planning are embedded within operational processes.
This approach aligns with the government’s Cloud Security Principle 2: Asset protection and resilience, ensuring customer data and services remain available, secure, and protected. Further detail on resilience and datacentre architecture can be provided on request. - Outage reporting
