1. your likely security and controls requirements – this will be based on your processes, plus also our 20+ years of experience in Oracle ERP/HCM security and controls projects and best practice from both public and private sectors.
2. how the ownership of these security and controls requirements has/will change by moving to the Cloud, along with alternative sources of comfort over controls such as Third-Party assessments over the Cloud provider’s controls.
3. scope and documentation of Cloud provider’s controls – we can review the SOC1/SOC2 reports from Oracle to provide guidance on the assurance they are providing and where they are expecting your organisation to operate key controls, such as user access within Cloud ERP/HCM and auditing of business process configuration changes.
4. reviewing your controls and supporting you with process design – from our experience you will still be responsible for most key controls if you move to Oracle Cloud ERP/HCM. You will need to implement access controls, business process controls and auditing.

Given our 20+ years of experience in Oracle ERP/HCM security and controls projects, each of the controls that we would recommend implementing, we have implemented before. This includes:
1. best practice segregation of duties, with a focus on conflicting business process privileges.
2. risk based auditing – recording high-risk, low frequency changes to master data and configuration settings, and then developing exception reports to extract these logs and implementing a control for business processes to review these.
3. monitoring controls over administrators – identifying the changes performed by administrators to key business process data, along with a process to compare this to change requests.
4. reporting security – reducing the risk of data leakage of sensitive data such as the amount spent with individual vendors or sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by restricting access to this information or HR records.
