Planning

Planning service
Yes
How the planning service works
We implement cloud services using a DevOps methodology to ensure faster stable delivery. We reduce the complexity of managing software engineering projects through collaboration and automation, key benefits include:
- quicker and frequent delivery of application features
- a balanced approach to managing an SDLC for enhanced productivity of software teams
- innovate faster by automating repetitive tasks
- remediate problems quicker and more efficiently
- minimise production costs by reducing errors.
C-Clarity Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Service provides a unique approach to application lifecycle and service management by incorporating various aspects of software development into the operational status.
With SRE, IT infrastructure is broken down into basic, abstract components that can be provisioned with software development best practices or Appfrastructure. Teams use automation to solve most problems associated with managing applications in production. SRE uses three Service Level Commitments to measure how well a system performs:
- Service level agreements (SLAs) - defines the required reliability, performance, and latency.
- Service level objectives (SLOs) target values and goals to satisfy SLAs.
- Service level indicators (SLIs) measure specific metrics to determine conformity to the SLOs.

Setup and migration

Setup or migration service available
Yes
How the setup or migration service works
We have a cloud first policy ensuring new systems are designed and build for modern cloud platforms while existing heritage systems are assessed for migration or redesign to cloud platforms.
We work with industry standard tools and products to ensure target platforms can be maintained and supported by a wide ranges of experienced technical teams.
For example, Kubernetes Cloud platforms enable us to provision scalable, flexible, and reliable applications in highly distributed environments.
We are expert in project planning & management tools including JIRA and Pivotal Tracker which enable us to coordinate projects effectively across distributed teams.
Source control tools erase boundaries between developers and operators, allowing for seamless collaboration and release of application delivery.
Our cloud migration process includes several key phases to ensure sucess;
- clearly identify the key stakeholder and programme objectives
- infrastructure and application architecture assessments to determine suitability of target cloud platforms
- analysis of system performance requirements
- mapping of key stakeholders and organisation structures to ensure collaboration and is maintained at all stages
- focus on security and performance requirements
- phased delivery of initial components to test compatibility
- release and regression planning
- designing monitoring and maintenance into the architecture

Fighting climate change

Fighting climate change

We are striving to become as carbon neutral as possible. We are fully digital and do not rely on printing any documents. Our business applications are all cloud based and so we benefit from not maintaining and keeping hardware and our own server based IT. We source the latest laptops with low energy ratings. We have a remote working and work from home policy unless on a client/customer site and where possible we aim to reduce travel in motor vehicles and use the train as much as possible. We restrict any international travel to a minimum. We are competitive about being carbon neutral both internally and externally. When we are together working and when we are remote we look to use carbon neutral

We operate an open and transparent salary and career scheme. We are open to all genders, nationalities and have an open diversity approach. The pay and benefits are the same for all staff and salary and commissions are based on prior experience and experience within the company. This is handled through a career ladder which clearly states how salary and commissions are calculated dependent on grade. Promotion within the company is through a well defined and clear approach with transparent skills assessment and marking process. We aim to bring in as many graduates as possible including offering apprenticeship schemes for undergraduates/apprentices alike.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing

Wellbeing

Mental Wellbeing It is important to us that our culture supports positive mental wellbeing and normalises talking about mental health at work so everyone feels comfortable acknowledging when they’re not ok and need additional support. We are supporters of the Mental Health at Work Commitment and also support initiatives such as Mental Health Awareness Week and expect all staff to be mindful and respectful of the this very serious topic. Physical wellbeing Our management team are very keen supporters of being healthy and supporting activities that maintain a healthy physical and mental state. We recognise that physical activity can also promote positive mental wellbeing in addition to other health benefits. We will and do support numerous people including staff for any physical activities they perform and support charities for whom they may be active for. Social wellbeing We understand the power of building a positive social environment and culture at work, and we aim to do this by creating a connected and inclusive environment where everyone can be themselves. As lockdowns and social distancing became part of our new normal, many people reported that lack of social contact - both inside and outside of work - was proving particularly difficult. We actively encourage social engagement and will be holding many fun, serious, educational events to ensure our staff know each other. Financial wellbeing We believe every employee should take control of their finances and make informed decisions. We partner with a company that provide coaching on multiple elements of daily life both work and personal. This coaching includes advice, support and guidance on financial wellbeing including debt, retirement, mortgages or budget planning.
