Onboarding and offboarding
- Getting started
-
Mapcite Enterprise software is designed for non-specialist users and does not require lengthy training. However, every service installation includes one web based introductory session of half a day, to provide an overview of the application and get users started.
Mapcite Enterprise ingests data in a variety of formats (including Sql Server and ShapeFiles) but predominantly the universal CSV format. Ideally data should be geocoded (i.e. have a latitude and longitude) but should have a UK postcode as a minimum. Some organisations also need some assistance to make their data ready for use. The introductory session can help organisations understand whether any renovation of their data is required before it can be used and what options might be available to do so. Mapcite’s Excel product can be used to geocode data if this is required. Support for the ingestion of large datasets can be provided.

Availability and resilience

Unless stated, Mapcite will provide its software hosted on Amazon AWS servers based in the UK. Clients are requested to ensure that AWS provides availability levels that meet their requirement.
In the event that a server has been offline for more than a 24 hour period, Mapcite will provide a service credit equal to the amount of the saving on hosting cost. - Approach to resilience
- As standard, Mapcite Enterprise instances are single virtual machines with no additional redundancy. However, if additional resilience is required, for use cases where API access is the predominant access mechanism, we would provide multiple instances behind a load balancer. The design of a resilient infrastructure would be undertaken through our technical support team.
