All support queries are routed through the support team and handled at the appropriate escalation levels, starting with First Line Support > Support Team > Product Managers > and Director-level staff.

Unlimited remote support is included within licence fees for the duration of the contract.

Each client is assigned a project manager for the implementation stage until user acceptance testing is complete.

Thereafter, the project is assigned to the services support team.

End-of-contract data extraction
At the contract end we can extract all of the customer's data to a variety of human and computer readable structured formats (CSV, JSON, XML). All data held and generated by UTC and SCOOT is owned by the client and can provided on demand.
End-of-contract process
As part of the contract, we will work with the customer (user) to create an exit plan. This plan will detail and agree on the end-of-contract process, including data preparation and export, service cut-off date and any necessary data migration. The customer will have the option to include at cost any required migration support to a new systems vendor.

UTC includes access to an Open Data Portal where clients can access historic and real time data feeds of SCOOT and UTC data. This can be used for a variety of purposes including: network performance analysis and modelling, investigating network issues, powering operations data reporting, connections to CAV for guidance of vehicles through traffic signals and prioritisation, connection to in-car information systems, powering 3rd party applications and research activity, connection to connected bicycles and other mobility forms.

Scaling

Independence of resources
UTC is hosted on Microsoft Azure. When demand increases, the application automatically scales using Azure's auto-scaling features. The scaling is determined based on CPU usage, memory usage, network throughput, and other key parameters that could affect the application performance. We also monitor and alert on system health metrics using a Grafana dashboard/alerts.

TRL is committed to maintaining and continually improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS) that satisfies applicable requirements and is certified to the international standard ISO/IEC 27001:2013.

The objectives of the ISMS policy are to establish and maintain the security and confidentiality of information systems, applications & networks owned or held by TRL, within which:
