Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
Everbridge CEM is high-performance, scalable, and reliable. It will provide a monthly broadcast availability of 99.99% or greater, allowing for real-time call prioritization which provides optimal service to customers at all subscribed service levels.
During a 60-minute period, Everbridge shall make a minimum number of notification attempts to the first contact path for all client broadcasts, using the standard configuration, per the table below. Notification attempts do not include third-party network delivery:
Notification Type/Message Size/Messages per hour
Everbridge Mobile App / 500 Characters / 600,000 per hour
Voice / 30 seconds / 300,000 per hour
SMS / 500 characters / 600,000 per hour
Email / 500 characters / 600,000 per hour
Minimum numbers above do not apply when a Client uses the broadcast delivery throttling feature or intervals between delivery methods.
Since we deliver our services at 99.99% or greater uptime, service/credit remedies are not required or accepted. Should client stakeholders have specific questions about our service availability, Everbridge would welcome the opportunity to discuss this topic as required.
Approach to resilience
The Everbridge critical event management and communication suite is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform in a fully redundant, multi-region cloud configuration. Our platform does not require clients to purchase, install, or manage any hardware, software, or capacity within their organizations. This allows Everbridge clients to quickly begin using Everbridge services without the typical “ramp up” or implementation time required by many other vendor systems in the marketplace.
To provide a highly scalable and global solution, Everbridge’s system has designed a true “zero point of failure” system. Our infrastructure is hosted within SOC2 compliant cloud facilities in multiple locations around the globe. The cloud facilities are also ISO 27001, ISO 27701 certified.
Our cloud computing environments in these facilities include redundant network uplinks feeding dual routers, fully meshed with dual load balancers. Our tiered architecture approach includes a web tier, application tier, database tier, and a tier for our communication engine. Each tier within our architecture is supported by an elastic cluster of servers allowing for full redundancy, high performance, and easy scalability. If service is disrupted at any site, traffic is rerouted to the remaining sites so that Everbridge's services remain constantly available.
Outage reporting
1,3
Everbridge has three 24x7x365 Network Operations Centers (NOC) that continually monitor the Everbridge platform and respond to any operational outages. The NOC issues service advisory reports as disruptions are discovered and provides continual updates until the situation has been resolved.

Configuration and change management standard
Complies with a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v4.0 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
Configuration and change management approach
Everbridge has well-defined change management policies which are governed by NIST 800-53 (http://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/SpecialPublications/NIST.SP.800-53r4.pdf), Controls for Moderate Risk systems, CM-1 through CM-11. Our implemented controls include the following key tenants: change planning; evaluation; review; approval; communication; documentation; and post-change review.
Our change management policies provide the highest possible levels of service availability through minimization of the impact of changes within the production environment by assessing risk prior to change execution, reviewing scheduling to prevent overlap of changes to closely connected systems, and roll back steps.
Vulnerability management type
Complies with a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v4.0 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
Vulnerability management approach
Our vulnerability management policies are governed by NIST 800-53 controls and FedRAMP compliance. Everbridge’s Cybersecurity program follows recommendations from OWASP (Top 10) and SANS (Top 25). News feeds for CVE/CCE from Miter, NIST, and US Cert are received and reviewed as needed.
Remediation of all vulnerabilities is conducted based on criticality, applicability, and endpoint; patches are evaluated against the industry standard CVSS scoring system; Timelines for deployment of patches are 7 days for Critical, 14 days for High External Systems, 30 days for High Internal Systems, 90 days for Medium, and 180 days for Low impact vulnerabilities.
Protective monitoring type
Complies with a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v4.0 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
Protective monitoring approach
Everbridge enables active monitoring, intrusion detection, and logging of all events, on all components, within all tiers of the fully redundant, geographically dispersed SaaS infrastructure. The monitoring tools consist of host-based probes that are designed to detect any activity outside of normal application traffic and performance. If a monitor detects any unusual or suspicious activity, then the monitoring tool generates an alert that is immediately investigated by our on-call support team.
Everbridge constantly reviews all aspects of the shared SaaS infrastructure to ensure that the system monitoring, intrusion detection, and audit logging capabilities are meeting current security challenges
Incident management type
Complies with a recognised standard, for example, CSA CCM v4.0 or ISO/IEC 27035:2011 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
Incident management approach
Everbridge follows the Incident Response procedures outlined in NIST 800-61 and included in NIST 800-53, which Everbridge leverages as our security framework. Everbridge’s compliance with NIST 800-53 is audited annually by a 3PAO as required. Please see http://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/SpecialPublications/NIST.SP.800-53r4.pdf, IR-1 through IR-10 for more information.
