Fighting climate change
n2s work closely with its customers to deliver and report back on progress to sustainability and net zero targets. In 2023, our circular reuse and recycling approach helped customers avoid over 37,000 tonnes of CO2e and over 75 million litres of water. Through our remarketing and granular approach to recycling we anticipate returning a carbon saving of over 24,000 tonnes of CO2e over the lifespan of this contract.
n2s has completed a UKRI 5-year research and development program in collaboration with Coventry University. The result is a new green refining plant for the recovery of metals and other materials from ewaste. Harnessing the power of nature and using Biotechnology as well as innovative mechanical processes to extract/ ‘urban mine’ the valuable materials within e-waste in an environmentally sensitive process.
N2s are scaling this current technology which is already reducing CO2e through production of green metals refining from e-waste. The goal is to deliver capacity for refining 500 tonnes per year (minimum) by end of 2025. The increase in circular economy using sustainable methods of metal recycling from E-waste reducing CO2e.
Due to our pioneering work in this space, we were invited to be a founding member of the Government Digital Sustainability Alliance (GDSA) and are passionate about sustainability and the circular economy in the public sector. We would plan to employ the ideas and innovations that are born out of the GDSA to make sure our customers are leading in their ambitions to achieve net zero and circularity.Tackling economic inequality
N2s are part of a large support outreach programme aimed at ending digital exclusion. The scheme assists young people in various ways, including assisting finding paid work experience, coaching, employability skills training and supporting business ideas. N2s provides access to remarketed digital devices for young people in digital poverty to enable their development and improve their future prospects. With a minimum of 12 schemes per year the results are a complete, safe, effective, secure and compliant supply of devices during each programme.
