Acadiant is designed at its foundations to maintain operations through disruptive events. From the outset, Acadiant has not only been building software for remote working, but also has set itself up to be able to work remotely as well. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this has proved essential.
All Acadiant employees have been working from home with the tools and technology needed for software development and maintenance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to seamlessly deliver the highest quality software and maintain full continuity during the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing.
Our software, which runs on any operating system and device, is fundamentally designed to support remote working. This has been particularly valuable for our customers as well as employees.
Maternity Direct telehealth app has been effectively supporting NHS midwives and pregnant women through COVID-19 and beyond.
Maternity Direct connects midwives with pregnant women through a secure text chat on non-urgent queries and then stores those chats in the hospital’s EMR for later reference. As a telehealth app, Maternity Direct offers efficient use of staffing resources, by helping midwives—who may be shielding or working from home—to care for pregnant women, avoiding face-to-face appointments, and delivering high quality, remote healthcare services.
This ability to scale NHS resources, helping midwives care for pregnant women, even when unable to see them face-to-face, due to COVID, contributed to Maternity Direct winning “Highly Commended” for Workforce Innovation from HSJ Partnership Awards 2021.
Moreover, we created a COVID-19 Triage Form for the midwife and woman to determine whether the woman should attend her antenatal appointment.
The Health Information Newsfeed is an effective broadcast system for transmitting vital healthcare information. The content, controlled by the hospital’s midwives, provides updates with relevant posts from trustworthy sources, which has been proving essential for COVID-19 safety and vaccine updates. - Tackling economic inequality

Tackling economic inequality
Acadiant is committed to equality and diversity, to creating a diverse workforce across gender, race, and age. Half of Acadiant’s engineering staff is female, and of its two company directors, one is female.
Similarly, in our partnerships, Acadiant seeks diversity of thought and the most capable partners. We find that the broader the range of people we can partner with, the more diverse the ideas, and the better the outcomes.
In choosing our suppliers, we try to find those that share these values, for example working with companies that emphasise opportunities and leadership across gender and race. We are members of the Shuri Network, which supports women from minority ethnic groups in digital health, and have long been members of Ada’s List, which supports women in technology, and Tech London Advocates: HealthTech. We contribute to the communities in which we live and work, and have acted as mentors for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, for the London tech community Level39, and for the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme.
We pay our all suppliers promptly so that small businesses do not have to struggle with cashflow. We recognise the importance of prompt payment and comply with the Small Business Commissioner's Prompt Payment Code, and pay all our invoices within agreed terms, typically within 14 days.
Most importantly, we fundamentally believe that the Acadiant platform on which we build software solutions in patient safety, telehealth, and virtual care, can contribute to equitable access to health care and an improved, easier work experience for both employees and customers. - Equal opportunity
