Planning
- Planning service
- Yes
- How the planning service works
- We will undertake a full due-diligence discovery audit to determine the complete scope of the project, confirm the project brief and ratify all of the information shared. We will ensure that we have a thorough understanding of existing services. A project team, consisting of Lorien and Buyer representatives, will be established and will mutually agree the final project plan. In addition, our comprehensive resource plan will outline the roles, responsibilities and time commitment required from these representatives. This will ensure that there are no gaps and that every aspect of the implementation (and ongoing service delivery) plan is carefully managed by the appropriate project team.

Quality assurance and performance testing
- Quality assurance and performance testing service
- Yes
- How the quality assurance and performance testing works
- We will work with the buyer to define activity and outcomes. Then identify the test environment and evaluate their systems, recommending the best approach, in line with budgets, technology & timescales. We create the required Test Scripts that replicate systems interactions, ‘Executing’ the required tests. We will evaluate how a system performs in terms of responsiveness and stability under a particular workload. Our Performance tests are typically executed to examine speed, robustness, reliability, and application size. We conduct performance testing using commercial tools like LoadRunner, NeoLoad, JMeter and others. We can introduce a Quality Assurance tool to assess the quality post project delivery. We will measure the length of time taken between planned deliverable date vs actual completion date. The delta will be used as a metric to continually improve, through increased automation to reduce time taken to complete similar work, re-using high scoring resource to complete similar tasks or by creating a knowledge base to complete pre-task work in a faster time. We will partner with you through the process, providing reporting and playback sessions, to make sure there is a continuous improvement cycle. We can customize one of our flexible engagement models for the perfect solution.

Fighting climate change
We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment and we report our greenhouse emissions via our annual report. We are proud to be working with Planet Mark to measure our carbon footprint and have a positive impact on the planet and society. Through the Planet Mark Business Certification, we will be measuring and reducing our carbon footprint. 2022 was our first full financial year of purchasing 100% renewable electricity for our UK operations.Covid-19 recovery
Following the massive changes to the way we work brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have adopted a hybrid working model to improve our employees' work life balance and enable them to work more flexibly. We regularly conduct employee feedback surveys to ensure our working model enables our workforce to be happy at work as well as productive.Tackling economic inequality
We’re bringing STEM - (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects alive for children by providing insight into real-life applications of skills and creating opportunities for young people to explore potential careers. We do this as part of STEM Learning’s Ambassador Programme in the UK, which aims to build links between education and industry by bringing role models into schools to speak to pupils.Equal opportunity
Our internal ED&I council UNITY is made up of various sub-groups, specialising in promoting and celebrating the diversity of our business. The groups include:
IMAble - Championing a workplace free of limitations so all can thrive in a culture that understands disabilities and mental health
IMProud - Creating a safe and inclusive workplace for LGBTQ+ individuals by raising awareness and advocating for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
IMWomxn - Celebrating and championing all those who identify as women, and promoting gender equity, both at Impellam and beyond, by providing support, resources and networking opportunities for women.
IMMulticultural - A support network for those who identify as multicultural and their allies to promote cultural awareness and to champion an inclusive and diverse workplace.
In addition, we have several relevant accreditations, including Disability Confident, and we are a member of RIDI (Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative). We’ve made our online content more inclusive too by deploying ReciteMe across all our websites. The software provides accessibility and language options so visitors can customise our sites in a way that works for them. We are also recognised as a diversity champion wit LGBTQIA+ charity Stonewall, and signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant as a demonstration of our promise to treat the armed forces community with fairness and respect and provide opportunities for those who have served and their families.Wellbeing
We provide all our employees with a free subscription for the Calm app to support their mental wellbeing, as well as an employee assistant programme (EAP) where they can access funded and confidential mental health support. We also utilise OpenBlend, a
performance management and coaching software tool that encourages open and honest conversations about wellbeing, career progression and personal development.
