Planning
- Planning service

- How the planning service works
-
Throughout delivery our teams work in an immersive fashion with Buyers. This is to understand how new solutions or migrations will impact end users, up and down-steam parties, other suppliers, internal teams, and operational costs.
Building on the planning phase we assess the change impact from the AS-IS and TO-BE and define a roadmap to migrate to the cloud or between services including:
- Develop a migration strategy tailored to the Buyer's specific requirements and constraints.
- Define appropriate migration approach for each workload e.g. rehosting/ lift-and-shift) re-platforming, refactoring, or replacing.
- Plan migration phases to sequence the migration of workloads based on dependencies, risk factors, and business priorities.
- Establish migration criteria and success metrics to measure the effectiveness of the migration process.
A service migration plan will be agreed with the Buyer and monitored and a deliverable under the service.
Where appropriate, Tecknuovo can also carry out an internal capability assessment as part of the transition plan, providing training workshops, war games, pair programming and other innovate knowledge transfer activities to reduce setup/migration impact. - Planning service works with specific services

- How the training service works

Tecknuovo provides training across all aspects of cloud software and hosting including: cloud strategies and transformation, deployment models, infrastructure, data centers, service providers and offerings, security and compliance,
implementation and migration, data management and optimisation.
We build capability and skills and ensure continuity through our Zero Dependency Framework. Our success is defined by our exit and the legacy of enduring Buyer capability. We work closely with Buyers to solve immediate delivery challenges and also provide training and transfer of knowledge, meaning Buyers hold the skills at the end of the engagement. We do this through:
- One team collaboration: Collaboration, working together and creating an environment that encourages experimentation and learning from successes and failures.
- Working out loud: Making documentation, decisions, supporting tools and patterns open to all and providing on-the-job skills development as part of day-to-day delivery.
- Position and transition: Through our TeckAcademy®, we provide a bespoke upskilling programme for internal teams, building or enhancing communities of practice, providing a central point for standards, expertise and driving adoption by teams.
- Right to insource: Through our TeckAcademy®, we can provide a bespoke upskilling and recruitment programme, building and transferring culturally and technically trained teams to the Buyer. - Training is tied to specific services

Fighting climate change
Through our environmental policies and practices, we already have a low impact and are focused on minimising this as we grow to meet Buyer demand for our services. This includes:
- ISO14001 certification, enhancing our environmental performance and policies and initiatives to reduce our emissions.
- Reducing Scope 2 emissions in the short term, and our Scope 3 emissions over the medium-long term to meet our target of net zero by 2050.
- Offsetting carbon 125% of all our emissions (including from renewable energy). We have worked with partners such as Trees for Cities, Evertreen, and Dodo to support reforestation and other carbon offset projects.
- Moving to a more sustainable building for our HQ offices in London which uses 100% renewable energy and rainwater capture.
To support greener practices in our cloud delivery, we have maintained hybrid working arrangements for our workforce to reduce travel needs, and ensured where travel is necessary for delivery our teams, we minimise our impact through greener travel options.
We will remove / reduce negative impacts of each engagement through defining, agreeing, and implementing a Buyer-specific cloud environmental plan. We will work collaboratively with the Buyer, supply chains, and Cloud providers to deliver the plan and promote environmental best practice and awareness. This will include educating users and staff about cloud best practices and adoption of energy-saving features as part of delivery, showcases, and webinars.
Our Environmental Committee leads Tecknuovo’s environmental initiatives, headed by our Chief Legal & Sustainability Officer who reports and reviews progress against plans quarterly. The Committee will continue to encourage our workforce to get involved with our initiatives, and encourage our suppliers to align with our commitment to reductions, making the environment a key driver for evaluating and selecting our suppliers.Covid-19 recovery
Tecknuovo understands the hardship faced by those who were isolated, left unemployed or fell behind in education because of Covid-19, and the impact it had on businesses and skills gaps.
Tecknuovo continues to create new work, employment, and contract opportunities in the technology sector as we scale our business to meet Buyer demand (with a focus on supporting public sector projects with social value aims), including the launch of TeckAcademy®.
Being tech agnostic, and offering remote and flexible working arrangements, we can reach a broader range of workers — including those impacted by Covid-19 across the UK — and increase the diversity of our delivery community.
Our work opportunities and training programmes support individuals impacted by Covid-19 looking to enter the technology sector, develop new skills, change their career, or return to the industry.
We offer flexibility both in terms of how we engage with our workforce and in our working conditions. That covers employment, apprenticeships or traineeships, owner-managed micro-businesses (associate model), and established supplier engagements via our supply chain.
Our working practices support those impacted by Covid-19 or shielding. This includes offering remote and hybrid engagements, focusing on outcomes rather than requiring the traditional working week, minimising business travel, focusing on less frequent but immersive project days at Tecknuovo HQ, supporting much-needed family / carer-friendly arrangements, and making our teams feel connected, included, and part of our community. All of this supports a healthy work/life balance and positive mental health.
Tecknuovo has inclusive recruitment practices which align to the Good Work Plan, which includes clear job roles, gender-neutral job adverts, anonymised interview of candidates, objective and consistent interview questions, focus on ensuring accessibility to the recruitment process, ensuring candidates are aware of their reasonable adjustment rights, and flexible working arrangements.Tackling economic inequality
Tecknuovo engages a wide and diverse supply chain, comprising SME consultancies, partners, and micro-organisations through our associate model. Tecknuovo allocates a minimum 60% of contract spend on our supply chain, creating opportunities for and development of new businesses and start-ups.
To support local communities, we will wherever possible work with businesses from our Buyers’ local communities, alongside remote hiring and working practices and training through TeckAcademy®. This ensures we remain location-agnostic and accessible to all individuals across the UK.
This lets us offer employment and training to those facing barriers to employment or from deprived areas. We engage with individuals on an aptitude and attitude basis rather than a hard skills basis, using apprentice schemes to integrate new talent or increase skills and qualifications through our TeckAcademy®.
We engage, support, and develop skills of individuals breaking into the technology sector (from underrepresented groups / deprived areas) through initiatives including:
- relationships with the wider Technology community, partners and local academic institutions
- mentoring individuals from deprived areas through the Black Valley mentoring programme and supporting the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation
- promoting industry-relevant groups such as Meetups and Slack channels of like-minded individuals, sharing technical newsletters, and providing access to our library of TeckTalks.
Our low contract workforce attrition reflects the good relationships, positive working practices (working to the Good Work Plan), and our efforts to attract and engage a diverse supply-chain. We ensure our associates are able to continually learn from Tecknuovo and each other through Slack channels, collaborative spaces, and in-person events to help with innovation in solutions and to continuously identify and make improvements.
Tecknuovo maintains strong cyber security controls and information security management, through its Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification, its ISO27001 accreditation, and supported by a cyber insurance policy.Equal opportunity
Tecknuovo recognises that tackling contract workforce inequality is fundamental for sustainable growth and developing our people, Buyers, and business, and for the benefit of wider society. It helps close the digital skills gap and brings new perspectives and innovation to our services.
We provide DEI training for our employees, including unconscious bias training, and use our monitoring and data to improve our practices and outcomes.
We operate inclusive recruitment practices supporting equal opportunities, including:
- promoting diversity and inclusion commitments in job advertisements
- clear policies to address inequality
- promoting awareness of the right to reasonable adjustments
- objective criteria and skill-based assessment to avoid unconscious bias
- using diverse job boards to support inclusivity e.g. MyGWork.
We offer our contract workforce remote working and work outside of typical office hours, focussing on deliverables based outcomes to provide a family / carer friendly-environment. We are progressing our journey to be a Disability Confident employer, to support an inclusive work environment.
As a Live Wage Foundation employer, our contract workforce is paid above the living wage. Through regular monitoring and reporting we will eliminate any gender, disability or ethnicity pay gaps if identified.
For our own employees, we build and maintain capabilities though our knowledge management and training framework, our pattern libraries and practices, training, and personal growth canvases to equip staff with skills and capabilities to deliver for Buyers and progress their careers.
We support the development of skills within our contract workforce through collaboration and knowledge sharing, our specialist Slack channels, collaboration days at Tecknuovo HQ for teams, “lunch and learn” sessions, and events to collaborate on delivery outcomes.
We identify, manage and mitigate modern slavery risks through our published statement and policy with e.g. regular monitoring, raising awareness and due diligence and compliance checks.Wellbeing
Tecknuovo takes the health and wellbeing of our employees very seriously. Our board of directors are responsible for employee welfare and drive our monitoring and reporting of mental health-related issues and preventative actions.
Our Health and Wellness Committee implement and administer our wellness strategy. This focuses on physical and mental health and wellbeing for employees, and on raising awareness and influencing participation in wellness activities within our wider contract workforce.
Our wellness strategy reflects the Mental Health at Work Commitments. It includes a wellness programme of activities for employees and regular surveys for feedback on their work environment, work/life balance, and to let us effectively monitor health and wellbeing and intervene where needed.
We raise awareness and educate our contract workforce on the importance of mental health through our supplier newsletters and regular check-ins with our project teams. To promote and encourage positive mental health, and to support a stronger integrated community, we regularly invite our contract workforce to participate in charitable events and to utilise our HQ offices.
Where delivery on projects can be intensive and fast-paced, we seek more regular feedback from our teams (including contract workforce) to monitor health and well-being, provide support, and identify and reduce the potential for friction in work environments.
We offer flexible working arrangements for employees and contract workforce, private medical insurance and access to an employee assistance and mental health support programme to our employees. We provide access to office facilities which support physical and mental health (e.g. gym facilities, wellness retreat rooms, and open garden spaces), available to our wider contract workforce to utilise bi-monthly. We provide monthly advice and newsletters on health and wellbeing matters to our employees and contract workforce and have Mental Health First Aider(s) and Champions on hand to support.
