Carbon reduction Catalyst have an annual independent Carbon audit, and maintain a policy of continual reduction and minimisation of the carbon footprint. Catalyst’s primary carbon usage comes from two primary areas, identified by this audit – travel and cloud hosting. Travel: Catalyst have several travel policies in order to ensure the ongoing reduction of the company carbon footprint – Cycle to Work and Electric Vehicle salary sacrifice schemes, alongside a central travel policy for medium to long distance travel which aims to identify the most practical sustainable travel on a case by case basis, such as international travel to conferences. Cloud Hosting: Catalyst use AWS hosting and monitor AWS’ published environmental statements, such as those identifying the renewable energy (wind farms) supplying the Dublin regional data centres. Further information around AWS’ carbon reduction and environmental impact policies can be found at https://sustainability.aboutamazon.com/ Noting that 100% of the electricity utilised in the London and Dublin AWS regions (those used by Catalyst) was from renewable energy sources in the latest reports. Sustainable Environment Catalyst believes in supporting our staff and the local community so where ever possible we work with other socially responsible suppliers such as AquaAid Water and Ryman. Within the office, Catalyst works to reduce, reuse and recycle in all possible ways including minimising paper use, reusing printed paper, recycling plastics and glass and engaging in power saving practices on our workstations. Catalyst also host regular ‘Beach Clean’ events supported by our Brighton staff and volunteers.Equal opportunity
Fair pay and Equality Catalyst actively seek the best quality staff, and pay scales represent this. Catalyst ensure all pay scales are above living wage standards. Catalyst also engage with staff in a variety of value added packages, including health insurance and leave entitlements, in addition to basic pay – these value added packages are not considered when stating pay levels. Catalyst ensure that all employment terms are applied equally and without discrimination for all employees.Wellbeing
Catalyst engage in a wide variety of Wellbeing activities supporting our staff. These range from private health cover, incorporating mental health and wellbeing facilities and services, through apps provided to employees and through a dedicated wellbeing programme of events organised by a designated member of the office team.
